I managed to lock him (Akers) inside the lab using the security computer, then went to the elevator forgetting to take the chip, I run back down the halley just to find he spawned outside the door, seeing him literally with the corner of my eye while running, then this thing screamed and rushed with me INSIDE the security room... luckily I exploited the game getting to the computer and waiting, he got out eventually... you won't be able to do this in the end with Jim's zombie/monster tho, as he not only hears, but also sees you, he grabs you away from the computer sigh
But yeah, in case anyone else sees this, he's able to open (and smash through) doors. (Haven't experienced this myself though.)
