Why my thread end up here?

Anybody that does not abide to the rules in their posts will be warned either by being contacted by a moderator or receiving a temporary forum ban, it all depends on the severity of the offence. Knowingly breaking the rules to a great extent may result in a permanent forum ban.

RULES and GUIDELINES

It's always best to play with people at the same skill level as yourself. Although you may think playing with higher skilled players may be beneficial to you in your learning; It isn't. It is always better to watch professionals play and learn that way.

Also having your rank boosted isn't a good idea either. You'll get to a rank you do not deserve, and in result will not maintain. You'll lose by yourself and get frustrated with the game. This also goes for playing with people that are greatly less skilled than yourself. You will not improve yourself if you just keep playing with players that aren't even close to challenging yourself.

So use this link to find players at your own skill level.

Find a player/clan/group forum

Always be aware of Scammers. Here are some tips and knowledge of how to spot scammers.
- Impersonating accounts, always be aware of this.
- Brand new accounts, level 0-3.
- Private Accounts
- Private Inventory
- Few games with low hours.

Teamspeak has a scam where it makes you download something when entering a TS3 server. It will steal your information! DO NOT DOWNLOAD ANYTHING for a trade.

The way to minimize the risk of scams is to trade VIA steam client. Do not use middlemen. Do not use skype or anything other third party software to communicate. Be Smart!


Different wears for skins from best to worst.

FN = Factory New
MW = Minimal Wear
FT = Field-Tested
WW = Well-Worn
BS = Battle-Scarred

Always be a friendly trader, don't low ball another player. Meaning don't trade them crap skins for something obviously way better. It's just a slap to the face.

Once the trade is finished and concluded, and you're both happy with the trade. Leave a comment on each others profile +rep friendly/good trader.

Floats are the wear of the skin. Factory new may be factory new but there are still wears for it. For example the float for a factory new is between 0.00 - 0.07. And 0.00 means perfect Factory New and 0.07 means on the lower end of Factory New

Reporting a Scammer

The Steam Community is not a place to do this. One reason is that claims can be faked. Anyone could potentially create false information about another user and encourage report abuse based on that information.

Instead of creating naming and shaming topics, use the provided “Report Violation” functionality located on a users profile to report suspected scamming or other abuse.

Some additional notes:
- More profile reports do not make them more true. A scammer, etc. will be dealt with once evaluated by Valve.
- Only create legitimate reports. Clogging up the system, whether that be in Game Hubs or Discussions by creating false/excessive reports, is just making the system less effective. Plus it can be considered spam.
