@Marquise* : There was someone who was recently asking how they might be able to do that for their game, as they wanted to have some commands run when they released a key.

Checking for a key-press is simple enough (as seen in this tutorial), but checking for when a key is released is a bit more involved, so the method I show is one way I might do it. It could be used in several ways, depending on what the Developer wants to have happen;

For example, maybe holding down a key for couple of seconds might "charge up" a spell or for a power-attack (for example, with a bit more creative eventing a power-bar could be shown), or maybe the Player is trying to bash a door or a chest, or perhaps there's a type of puzzle or perhaps a "slider" bar in which the Player needs to perhaps press a key to start an action and then try to release the key at the right moment for a better chance of success at doing an action. I imagine it can be used in many different ways.

In wich occasion in a game do we need to see that? Or is it just to make certain a key mapping hold right and works before releasing a game? I am curious out of context. There are functions in RPGMaker I don't use that much yet. Maybe because I am still green. (I do admit the key correspondances are weird when I see that video from names to gamepad to keyboard.) Happy Thanksgiving!
