What started out as a simple merge between the Gothic and Windmill design, became one of the most efficient designs in interchange history... And nobody has even built it yet! Seriously, when I read about this design I was pretty damn impressed with its simple, yet elegant design. In real life, this is pretty much what's considered the pinnacle today. The only problem is that no country has decided to build it yet. In Cities Skylines... Well, I honestly think It could be one of the best designs in-game aswell. It has better capacity than the stack and turbine interchange. The only problem is its size, taking up more space than any previous interchange I've done. However, its low elevation makes it easier to plop down than its taller counterparts, an in my opinion, looks better than a 100-metre stack! In short, its a beast!

==============================================================

Advantages:
+ Probably the best capacity of all interchanges I've built
+ Low height making it easier to plop down
+ No weaving

Disadvantages:
- Difficult to upgrade
- Takes up lots of space

==============================================================

Cost: 56 790
Upkeep: 658 / week

In-game description: This is the interchange equivilant of quantum mechanics; highly theoretical, difficult to understand, but incredibly powerful!

Mexico actually built one of these, although the left entrance ramps are actually left exits instead: https://www.google.com/maps/@21.944916,-102.2898637,399m/data=!3m1!1e3

If I wanted to convert this into a service interchange (like a diverging diamond without the intersections) to go to a city road instead of another highway, would I just upgrade the roads using NeXT 2, or is there another suggestion?

@Anonym!ty the DDI is good for getting off highway and into developments its the superior alternative to the diamond interchange or DI

@alkrak44 it is a diverging diamond, minus the roads physically intersecting each other. much safer in real life and a better alternative to the diamond when 2 major highways cross

this looks a lot like a diverging diamond interchange

This is my goto in Freeways and glad to see it here. It seems to fix the over ramping issue of the gothic design while doing basically the same thing. There is one with a slight angle to it in where I65 meets I20 in Alabama USA which is featured in Freeways game. It has beautiful curves.
