Well, now it's time for latest drone improvements, based on Keens pirate drones script.
As always, "fighter drone" series is the simpliest and minimalistic, mostly for interiors.
Now, when I can get rid of all these gyros, timers and sensors it became twice smaller.

NOTE: I publish new "pirate" versions as new blueprints, because that script is working ONLY when drone owned by enemy NPC or Space Pirate faction. You can't use these for self-defence. And now they completely for scenarios.

Script allow them to track player down across whole world. But it could be not useful for you? That's why all of them have "activate" sensor, AI script will remain disabled until player enter 50 m radius, before this - drone can patrol area by GPS waypoints. When it will detect player it will clear waypoints and change it's course to player. But you still can manually trigger AI timer.

HOW TO USE:
Change ownership to enemy NPC or Space Pirates faction. That's all.

All my drones fueled, equipped, survival-ready and completely mod-free.

game updated soo much that now now its a good time to get back in. so many new AI blocks that these drones would be nice to benefit from.

That's exactly what I want actually. I'm trying to create an enemy WORTHY of my dreadnought category capital ship.
I know there's a ton of homing scripts and what not, & I'm sure I could have them be used to great effect on a giant enemy ship.

Well, I'm not playing SE for years now, plus I already see that it's nearly impossible task.
If I understood correctly, you want an AI? But it will only work when it belong to enemy NPC faction, it can't be yours, unless you will recreate my "pseudoAI" with sensors and timers, but then it's limited to 50 m range of detection.

Regarding tentacles, try stacking pistons on each other and extend them with max speed simultaneously and see how that works, looks pretty epic (no homing tho, but you can aim with that yourself)

Could you aid me in the creation of a giant Cthulhu type tentacle monster in space?
I want it to mine asteroids by default until its within a 100km range of an enemy faction, where it will proceed to maul and devour them to death.
I need its tentacles to act like homing missiles (that don't actually detach from the rest of the body.)
I'm fairly new to the game and I never retain information via YouTube thanks to my goat like attention span and Autism.
