Demon Eye, the scourge of the Terraria night skies.


With the new Eye of Cthulhu version up, and with the inclusion of the new "Servant of Cthulhu", I decided to go ahead and round out the gang with a "Demon Eye" model. Since Demon Eye is one of the more well known enemy types, I figured it was probably for the best just to maximize his submission on the first go. As such, I've created all six permutations that you would see on a normal Terraria night.

I've applied the flesh-tech I've been developing while working on the Eye of Cthulhu to the Demon Eye. As a result, the veins/tendrils on the backside are bulbous, adding to the fleshy meat effect. He also has the same facial flexes as the Eye of Cthulhu, and can sport a small range of emotions.

Rather than make six separate eyes, I've packaged all variants into the same model. The images above should tell you what you need to set in order to emulate each of the eye types. As a bonus, just about everything can be painted a different color. Use this to create your own eye variants.

I have no plans to make any Halloween variants at this time.


Notes


-Supports facial flexing. The Vertical(V) and Horizontal(H) flexes control the size of the pupil. Scale controls sizing up, Shrink controls sizing down. It's a bit convoluted. Just don't scale and shrink the eye at the same time(otherwise, very little will happen).

-Facial flexing also has minor expressions(Happy and Mad).

-The back tendrils and jiggle bones. "Utilities -> Back Procedural Bones" to gain access to them for posing.

-The eyelid cap model for "Sleepy" is bodygrouped, and defaulted to off.

-The iris(the blue part) is paintable.

-The pupil(the black part) is paintable.

-The tendrils(the red part) is paintable.



The original concept and design of "Demon Eye" is the intellectual property of "Re-Logic".

I was able to pull down a copy with no errors. Check the console window in SFM to see if it has any warnings related to Demon Eye.

Also, if you unsub, make sure to launch SFM and let it clean the files out before resubbing. Cycling the sub button outside of SFM won't refresh the files.

Finally, you could path to the folder with the model and delete it directly, which will force SFM to get a fresh copy. The path is "SourceFilmmaker\game\workshop\models\terr\models\enemy".

If none of those things work, I'll look into providing an external link.

I tried the sub and unsub thing, and I tried restarting SFM

Sounds like an all too common SFM glitch related to caching. If the issue is on your end, just unsub and resub to see if it fixes it. I'll pull down a copy of this and double check that it's working on my end.

some people dont know that things take time to make and cant be done instantly liek: MAKE FDBFHSGBDFHUGVSH NOW ITS BEEEN 2 SECONS NAO AND U STILL HASNT MAED IT!

The current plan? I'm going to fill in the last few heavily-requested enemy/boss types for Terraria, then take a break. During that break time, I'm going to work on other models and steadily work towards a full character. It will likely be in small increments too(This model has eyes. This model has facial expressions. This model has eyes and facial expressions. etc).
