Augustus the Golem

A stone golem made from various Roman-themed architecture and debris.


I originally used him in my Dark Cloud TF2 set promotional material as a stand-in enemy/boss type for the Scout, Pyro, and Soldier to square off against. He has a bit of a history with me, having been the first model I learned how to sculpt with, and the second revision being the first model I learned how to texture paint with.

He's not really based on anything. The original concept was a lift of another Dark Cloud enemy from the game, a amorphous golem creature. When I returned to the workshop, I gave him a total facelift, and now he's his own thing, unrelated to Dark Cloud. I'm not sure where I came up with Roman theme idea, but he's likely the most original idea I've pushed to the workshop thus far.

This is the third revision. It was mostly a cleanup job, fitting him with a better rig and an improved texture.

-Supports IK rigging via the default biped_simple script.

-The eyes are set to a yellow tint by default, but can be overridden with a custom color using $color2.

-Certain portions of the model are segmented/detachable(arms, legs, head).

-Due to the fact that he still technically is part of the Dark Cloud set of items, he retains the "darkc" file directory.
