I can't be the only one that loves the work that XIIICaesar has done with 'Franky235's original mod. However, i couldn't help but dislike how some legions have shields that i am not used to from other mods and games. With this mod i plan to create new shield textures that will be inspired by re-enactment groups and mods from previous total war titles.

Each update will include a redesigned texture for Marian, Augustan and Imperial era versions of a legion and their unit cards. I plan to update the mod with new designs at least twice a week until finished.

So far I have completed:

Legio II Augusta

Legio III Gallica

Legio IIII Macedonica

Legio IIII Flavia Felix

Legio IIII Scythica

Legio VI Ferrata

Legio X Fretensis (also as a naval unit in campaign and custom battles)

As explained on the actual mod pages, there's been some problems. here's a copy paste:

"XIIICaesar, the previous "manager" of the Caesar's legions mod removed his mod. Problem is that my shield reskins require that. Until I get the energy and time to do it (some time in the future if not next year), I'll upload my copies of his mods#

Currently the only way that you can play with my reskins and the legions is to play the Ancient Empires mod of Attila"

Weird indeed - you sometimes even see "IIII" in stead of "IV" on clocks too!

I researched it and you're rigth. thoug its weird, I supouse that the numbering at the time was different. thanks for the feedback one learns new things everyday.

incorrect in the case of the imperal army, they did their 4s differently on purpose, can't remember why. Scythica tended to switch around between IV and IIII at different periods in history though.

an accuracy issue, a 4 in roman numbers is IV not IIII
