1: When using the tank, you can fire shells upwards at
an angle by using the terrain to point yourself
upward. This is especially useful in Mission 4 in the
section where you get armor piercing rounds after the
aliens show up.

2: Soldiers with shields can easily be taken out with
melee attacks.

3: When things are looking chaotic, remember to take
your time and think. In all my years of playing Metal
Slug, I've never had the timer run out on me.

4: When collecting a lot of food drops in rapid
succession, you'll become fat, causing you to move
slower and jump more sluggishly. However, your weapons
and bombs become incredibly more powerful in this
state, allowing you to take out bosses much quicker
than usual.

5: On the other hand, getting cursed and becoming a
mummy offers no bonus whatsoever, unlike Metal Slug 5
where becoming a zombie lets you spew a screen
clearing, torrent of blood.

6: When a row of helicopters shows up with a red one
at the front, destroying the red one first will
destroy the rest in a domino effect, netting you a
huge point bonus.

7: Go to options and turn on "autofire". Nuff said.

8: When you get to the area in Stage 5 with exploding
wall crawlers, you will see machines with a down arrow
on them and a little crank sticking out. Position
yourself next to the crank and press the fire button
repeatedly to turn it, causing an item to fall down.

9: Pressing down and jump while in a tank will launch
you from the tank and send it flying across the screen
til it explodes. A good option for when it's almost
destroyed.

10: During the final mission, the large missiles that
come from right to left over the swaying bridge can
actually be stood and walked on.

11: If you're playing as Fio and let her idle for
awhile, she'll sit down and have a little picnic!

12: Apparently it is not well known information that
you can shoot down by jumping and then pressing down
while in the air.

13: You get an ENORMOUS point bonus if you finish a
level while in a tank.

14: The final boss is an incredible spectacle that
must be witnessed before you are done with the game.
