HLDJ is an software where you can download in www.hldj.org that allows you to play mp3 files in almost every ( if not all ) valve games and other games.

why am i making this guide? since valve updated the sound system hldj is suffering from problems like high pitched voice and fast ( or slow ) motion in the files.

Goldwave[www.goldwave.com] to fix the files

Youtube to mp3 ( not required but used to download files in mp3[www.youtube-mp3.org]

As this picture shows we have ourselves HLDJ an mp3 file and goldwave installed. So what do we do now?

in HLDJ folder we will have 4 folders: Audio ( where it will get the audio from ) , custom , manual and MP3.


The original method of using it was dropping it in the mp3 folder and using hldj to convert it into the audio folder to start csgo but since the update we cant do that anymore. thats when goldwave comes in.


in this image we can see goldwave. to start off we will go in File and go in Batch Processing


to start off we will click in add files and select our mp3 file
then we will go to Convert and we will choose those settings:


then click on Begin

After it completes which should be in a second it will save a .WAV (wave) file in your desktop (ex: ex-mp3 example)


after you have your .wav you just drag it into goldwave


it will look like this ^^. After that you click on Effect and Time


by default in the change area it will be at 100.0000. you have to change it to 200 then you can save it and drag into your Audio folder in HLDJ

go to your cfg directory:


Heres how it looks with HLDJ turned on after it is on.

Click on HLDJ_INIT and open with your notepad software ( i personally use notepad++)


After you opened it and scrolled all the way down to the bottom you will find a line saying:

echo ; echo HLDJ successfully loaded!; speak _comma.doop

Erase that line and save your notepad.

then you will be able to start the game and use your HLDJ normally,

first off by typing in console LA ( list audio ) you will be displayed all of your .wav files

normally you will only be able to use it by using the key you typed in hldj to play it ( with console open ) but you can easily do it with it closed just by binding: bind key "hldj_playaudio"


you can use hldj1 , hldj2 , hldj3 to see the help menus.

If it is still in fast motion or slow motion try redoing it but not speeding it up.

the speed up part is optional if it doesnt speed up with the batch processing part.
