-----------------------------------------------------------
** If you play STALKER games on a low end machine or maybe just or you simply have stuttering in game, especially while looking at flames, please try the solutions bellow.
** While it may not reduce stuttering completely, it should drastically improve framerate
** This tweak should work for all STALKER games
-----------------------------------------------------------

NVIDIA
  • Open Nvidia control panel;
  • 3D Settings - Manage 3D Settings - click on Program Settings Tab - add your STALKER game in the list of programs (if you already have it, simply select it);
  • Select the following options:
    - Antialiasing FXAA: On
    - Maximum pre-rendered frames: 1
    - Multi-display/mixed-GPU acceleration: Single display performance mode
    - Threaded optimization: Off
    - Triple buffering: On
    - Vertical sync: Adaptive

AMD RADEON

  • Download RadeonPro
  • Start RadeonPro -> Add profile -> Find the XR_3DA.exe in your STALKER/bin directory and then click on "Open"
  • Go to the Advanced tab
  • Set Flip Queue Size to 1
  • Make sure RadeonPro is running while Starting the game

Vsync is AIDS. Try capping the framerate with nvidia inspector (im suggesting 120) and NEVER use Vsync. Trust me and you won't regret it. I used to have dips to 20 fps. Now the worst im getting is sub 60

Thanks for the nvidia settings, most of that I do already, except I prefer to keep FXAA off

No as in non stalker games, like tf2 and payday 2

It works fine with the other games as well, since all of them use the same engine.

How will this affect other games?
