Preface
Note: This guide contains spoilers for enemies and other game content.

With the introduction of Terraria update 1.3, Steam integrated achievements were also introduced. This guide covers every achievement currently in the game (As of version 1.4.4.2), giving a brief but otherwise hopefully informative description to help obtain each achievement.

This guide does not, however, cover techniques and tricks to defeating each boss individually, as those will most likely be covered by specialised guides. Due to the nature of this guide (the fact that this guide was admittedly prepared before the release of the update), some achievements for events and bosses not previously introduced have not been fully detailed. Details will be updated and screenshots added as more information is discovered.

Any specific statistics given such as percentage chances for things to spawn are taken directly from the Official Terraria Wiki[terraria.gamepedia.com] and are (currently) up to the previous version (1.2.4.1).

Other Note: Please refrain from adding the guide authors. Any questions can be asked in the comments, there are a few of us looking through them regularly.

If you must add an author for anything else such as playing the game with them, please at least post a comment on their profile first so they know what's happening.
Slayer Achievements [Skull] [1]
Eye on You
Defeat the Eye of Cthulhu, an ocular menace who only appears at night.

The Eye of Cthulhu is Pre-Hardmode boss, and generally the first boss you will encounter in each world. It has a chance of spawning each night (33%) when one player has at least 200 or more life, 10 or more defence and 3 or more NPCs. A Suspicious Eye summoning item can also be used during the night to summon it.

Defeat the Eater of Worlds, a massive worm whom dwells in the corruption.

If your world does not have Corruption, simply make a new small world and it will have a 50% chance of generating Corruption instead of Crimson. Do note, the first kill on Eater of Worlds may not count for the achievement. Simply kill it again to unlock it.

Mastermind
Defeat the Brain of Cthuhlu, an enourmous demon brain which haunts the creeping crimson.

Brain of Cthulhu is a boss that only appears when the world has the Crimson biome as opposed to the Corruption. It is summoned through destroying 3 Crimson Hearts or by using the Bloody Spine summoning item. Sting Operation
Defeat the Queen Bee, the matriarch of the jungle hives.

The Queen Bee is a Pre-Hardmode boss found in the Underground Jungle biome. She is summoned by destroying the Larva inside the Bee Hive mini-biome.

Boned
Defeat Skeletron, the cursed guardian of the dungeon.

Skeletron is a Pre-Hardmode boss found by at the Dungeon. Before the initial fight, the player must speak to the Old Man that walks by the entrance of the Dungeon during the night. This will immediately summon Skeletron.

Still Hungry
Defeat the Wall of Flesh, the master and core of the world who arises after a great, burning sacrifice.

The Wall of Flesh is the final boss in the Pre-Hardmode world. It is summoned by dropping a Guide Voodoo Doll into lava. The Guide dies when the Voodoo Doll is dropped into lava and so must be alive when it happens.
Guide Voodoo Dolls are dropped by certain demons that can be seen holding a Doll. Be careful when obtaining one, as when the demon dies, it can drop the Doll right into the lava.

Buckets of Bolts
Defeat the three nocturnal mechanical menaces: the Twins, the Destroyer, and Skeletron Prime.

Each boss has a chance to spawn at the beginning of the night in Hardmode, if they have not been defeated once before in this world. They can each be summoned through the use of:

To summon it, the player must find an unblossomed pink flower named Plantera's Bulb somewhere in the Underground Jungle and destroy it with a pickaxe or drill.

Lihzahrdian Idol
Defeat Golem, the stone-faced ritualistic idol of the lihzahrd tribe.

The Golem is a Hardmode boss present in the Jungle Temple after Plantera is defeated. To summon Golem, the player must hold a Lihzahrd Power Cell in their inventory, and activate the Lihzahrd Altar found in the Jungle Temple. Power Cells are available through the chests found in the temple as well as drops from temple enemies.

Fish Out of Water
Defeat Duke Fishron, mutant terror of the sea.

Duke Fishron is a Hardmode boss that can be summoned by casting a fishing rod into one of the two ocean biomes on either end of the map while having the Truffle Worm in your inventory. The Truffle Worm is a rare bait that is available in the glowing mushroom biome underground only. He is easily killed by enemies at that depth. Requires a bug net to capture. He also digs into the ground should a player approach him so hermes boot and wings recommended.

Obsessive Devotion
Defeat the Ancient Cultist, fanatical leader of the dungeon coven.

Lunatic Cultist is a Hardmode boss found after the Golem boss has been defeated. To summon it, the player must find 4 Cultists that spawn at the entrance of the Dungeon and kill them.

A word of warning. It is not recommended that you attempt to defeat Lunatic Cultist if you are not prepared for the Lunar Event that activates immediately upon killing it. (See Star Destroyer below)

Star Destroyer
Defeat the four celestial towers of the moon.

This is a Hardmode event in which four bosses spawn simultaneously across the entire map (opening the map will show the icon for their locations). Each tower will manipulate the biome around it to spawn various enemies. The player must defeat a certain number of these enemies to remove the barrier that protects each boss.

Destroying all four bosses will grant this achievement, and will almost immediate summon the Moon Lord on the player's location (good luck). Must attack all 4 to be credited.

Champion of Terraria
Defeat the Moon Lord.

In Terraria's current form, Moon Lord serves as the "final boss". To summon it, the player must defeat the four celestial towers in the Lunar Event.

Slippery Shinobi
Defeat King Slime, the lord of all things slimy.

Slime King is a Pre-Hardmode boss that has a chance to spawn randomly in the overworld. It can be summoned through the use of the Slime Crown summoning item (crafted at a Demon or Crimson Altar with 1 Gold/Platinum Crown + 20 Gel).
Slayer Achievements [Skull] [2]
Goblin Punter
Triumph over a goblin invasion, a ragtag regiment of crude, barbaric, pointy-eared warriors and their shadowflame sorcerers.

The Goblin Invasion event has a chance to trigger each day once at least one Shadow orb or Crimson Heart has been destroyed, and if at least one player in the world has 200 or more health (this is current health, not maximum). In order to defeat this invasion in Singleplayer, the player must kill 80 goblins that spawn. In Multiplayer, this number increases by 40 with each additional player.

The trigger rate of the event is 1/3 each day for the first Invasion of that world, afterwards lowering to 1/30, and a further 1/60 once Hardmode is enabled.

Walk the Plank
Triumph over a pirate invasion, a group of pillagers from the sea out for your booty... and your life!

The Pirate Invasion is a Hardmode event that has a chance to trigger each day only when the Goblin Army event fails to trigger that day. In order to defeat this invasion in Singleplayer, the player must kill 120 pirates that spawn. In Multiplayer, this number increases with each additional player.

This item is only obtainable by opening a Present (7.14% of finding it in a present) in a Hardmode enabled world during Christmas (15th of December - 31st of December). This is based on your computer's time setting, therefore you can change that manually and load the world.

This event is completed once the player has killed 80 snowmen, plus an additional 40 snowmen for each additional player (with a maximum health of 200 or more) in the world.

Tin-Foil Hatter
Triumph over a martian invasion, when beings from out of this world come to scramble your brains and probe you in uncomfortable places.

Martian Madness is a Hardmode event once the Golem has been defeated. A Martian Probe will spawn randomly in the world's surface, and upon detection of a player nearby, it will fly away in an attempt to summon the event. While possible, it is not encouraged for the player to attempt to destroy it while it escapes, as destroying it will prevent the invasion from triggering.

Pumpkin Moon is an event that can be summoned through the use of a Pumpkin Moon Medallion at night (7:30PM-4:30AM). This item is only be crafted with Hardmode items (30 Pumpkins, 5 Ectoplasm, 10 Hallowed Bars).

Ice Scream
Reach the 15th wave of a frost moon, where the festive season quickly degrades into madness.

Frost Moon is an event that can be summoned through the use of a Naughty Present at night (7:30PM-4:30AM). This item is only be crafted with Hardmode items (2 Silk, 5 Ectoplasm, 5 Soul of Fright).

Vehicular Manslaughter
Defeat an enemy by running it over with a minecart.

30 Minecart Track can be crafted using 1 Iron/Lead Bar and 1 Wood at an Iron/Lead Anvil. A minecart is spawned when a player interacts with a piece of track, so does not need to be crafted. Hitting enemies while traveling in a minecart does between 60 and 100 damage depending on your speed.

There are Some Who Call Him...
Kill Tim.

Tim is a caster-type skeleton that randomly spawns in the cavern layer. Therefore there is no real method to finding him, but if you spend long enough in the game exploring underground, then you will run into him eventually. As the achievement suggests, kill him.

Deceiver of Fools
Kill a nymph.

The Nymph is a very rare enemy found in the underground. When the player first encounters, she will have the name of the Lost Girl, but approaching this NPC will immediately transform. It is recommended to only approach her with Hardmode gear.

Each Soul item is dropped by The Destroyer, The Twins and Skeletron Prime respectively, while the Hallowed Bar can be dropped by any of the three.

Breach the impenetrable walls of the jungle temple.

The Jungle Temple is accessible in Hardmode, after Plantera is defeated. Plantera will drop a Temple Key which is used to unlock the "Lihzahrd Door" at the temple's entrace. Unlocking this door will NOT award the achievement. Instead, you must mine a piece of Lihzahrd block.

The only two picks that have enough power to mine these blocks are the Picksaw dropped by the Golem inside the Temple or the Martian Saucer from the Martian Madness event.

The Jungle Temple can be found in the Underground Jungle.

Fashion Statement
Equip armor or vanity clothing in all three social slots.

Self explanatory. Equip one of each armor or clothing piece (head, chest, legs) on the social slots, not the armor slots.

Explorer Achievements [Tree] [1]
No Hobo
Build a house suitable enough for your first town NPC, such as the guide, to move into.

The player must build a structure that adheres to specific requirements in order for NPC to spawn and live within it. These requirements are that the house must have:
  • Fully enclosed with blocks, doors or wooden platform (1 solid block is required on the floor)
  • Full background wall
  • At least 1 door
  • At least 1 light source (torch, candle, etc.)
  • At least 1 flat surface item (table, dresser, etc.)
  • At least 1 comfort item (Chair, bed, etc.)
The house must have between 60 to 750 blocks of space. This number includes the frame.

Ooo! Shiny!
Mine your first nugget of ore with a pickaxe.

This will most definitely be achievable without trying, but if you walk in either direction when a world is first created, you will find some bronze or something right near the surface to mine.

Heart Breaker
Discover and smash your first heart crystal underground.

Heart crystals are uncommon objects found in the underground biome and below. They can be destroyed using a pickaxe, a drill, or explosives and drop a single life crystal.

I Am Loot!
Discover a golden chest underground and take a peek at its contents.

Golden chests are found in most biomes underground (cavern, jungle, dungeon). Golden chests in the Dungeon will be locked and require a key, so searching in other areas may be easier.

If you already own a golden chest, placing and opening it is enough to earn the achievement.

Smashing, Poppet!
Using explosives or your trusty hammer, smash a Shadow Orb or Crimson Heart in the evil parts of your world.

At world creation, both Corruption and Crimson have a 50% chance of one or the other appearing in your world. Shadow Orbs appear at the bottom of chasms in the corruption and Crimson Hearts appear in the crimson chasms. These can be smashed by any tier hammer or some explosives. (bomb/dynamite)

Where's My Honey?
Discover a large bee's hive deep in the jungle.

Bee Hive is a mini-biome found in the Underground Jungle Biome. Easily noticeable due to its yellow hive blocks and honey.

Dungeon Heist
Steal a key from dungeon's undead denizens, and unlock one of their precious golden chests.

A Golden Key can be found in the dungeon from a number of methods, it would seem based on the wording of the achievement, that you must kill an enemy to get a key, then open a locked chest. Normal Dungeon Enemies have a 1/65 chance to drop a key and a Dungeon Slime has a 100% chance to drop a key.

It's Getting Hot in Here
Spelunk deep enough to reach the molten underworld.

Underworld biome is the lowest biome in the underground. Explore or dig until you find the walls having red animated veins of lava, which indicates the start of the biome (as shown in the image).

It's Hard!
Unleash the ancient spirits of light and darkness across your world, enabling much stronger foes and showering the world with dazzling treasures (and rainbows!).

Enable Hardmode. This is done through defeating The Wall of Flesh boss in the Underworld biome. To summon the Wall of Flesh, drop the Guide Voodoo Doll into lava.

Begone, Evil!
Smash a demon or crimson altar with a powerful, holy hammer.

Demon or crimson altars are commonly found in their respective biomes in chasms, and rarely in other areas underground. They can first be destroyed using a Pwnhammer which is obtained by killing the Wall of Flesh.

Extra Shiny!
Mine a powerful ore that has been newly blessed upon your world.

Once you defeat the Wall of Flesh boss in the Underworld, it will drop a Pwnhammer, which can be used to destroy Demon or Crimson Altars. By destroying the first, second and third altar in each world, the world will generate Cobalt/Palladium, Mythril/Orichalcum and Adamantite/Titanium respectively. Mine one of those ores to obtain this achievement.

Photosynthesis
Mine chlorophyte, an organic ore found deep among the thickest of flora.

Clorophyte is an ore that will spawn in Underground Jungle biomes once Hardmode is enabled. A pickaxe or drill with 200% pickaxe power is required to mine it.

Get a Life
Consume a life fruit, which grows in the thick of subterranean jungle grass.

The Life Fruit is an item which permanently increases the player's maximum health (but only if the player has already accumulated 20 hearts). It can only be found once a world is Hardmode enabled and at least one mechanical boss has been defeated.

As stated in the description of the achievement, the Life Fruit spawns in the Underground Jungle Biome. Once the world is Hardmode enabled and a mechanical boss has been defeated, find one, harvest it using any weapon, and consume it.

Robbing the Grave
Obtain a rare treasure from a difficult monster in the dungeon.

After enabling hardmode, any of the weapon drops will classify as a rare treasure from dungeon monsters. You must have defeated Plantera for these items to drop. Ectoplasm does not count for this achievement.
Explorer Achievements [Tree] [2]
Big Booty
Unlock one of the dungeon's large, mysterious chests with a special key.

Hardmode must be enabled to earn this achievement. There are five chests that apply to this achievement: Jungle, Corruption, Crimson, Hallowed, and Frozen. Each one can be found in a different biome.

To get each key, kill enemies in their respective biomes. In Hardmode, any enemy has a 1/2500 (0.04%) chance of dropping one.

The key can be used to unlock one of the chests listed above, depending on the type of Key found. The final step is to find one of these chests and open it. This can only be done after Plantera has been defeated.

While any key is viable for this achievement, it is required that you get the Hallowed Key for the Rainbows and Unicorn achievement as the Hallow chest holds the only Rainbow Gun in the game.

Bloodbath
Survive a blood moon, a nocturnal event where the rivers run red and monsters swarm aplenty.

Blood Moons can happen on any night with a moon (i.e. this event doesn't occur when there is a new moon). This event will happen for ~10% of nights. The achievement is earned at the end of the night when the Blood Moon ends.

For the Blood Moon to activate, at least one person on the server must have at least 120 health (6 hearts).

Kill the Sun
Survive a solar eclipse, a day darker than night filled with creatures of horror.

The Solar Eclipse event only occurs when Hardmode is enabled. If at least one Mechanical Boss has been defeated, there is a 1/24 (4%) chance of it occurring. It can also be summoned using a Solar Tablet which can be found in the Jungle Temple or crafted using Solar Tablet Fragments dropped by enemies in the same area.
This event lasts the entire day (24 minutes in real life time).

Sticky Situation
Survive the slime rain, where gelatinous organisms fall from the sky in droves.

Slime Rain is an event that can occur in Pre-Hardmode. It extends for the duration of the entire day, with rare slime such as Pinky and King Slime spawning.

Jeepers Creepers
Stumble into a spider cavern in the underground.

A Spider Nest is a rare mini-biome found underground. Simply entering the biome should be enough to earn this achievement.

Funkytown
Build or encounter a glowing mushroom field above the surface.

Glowing Mushroom Grass Seeds can be harvested from a Glowing Mushroom biome found underground by breaking the grass. The seeds can then be planted above ground to begin building a glowing mushroom field. Mushroom seeds can only be planted onto a mud block.
This requires at least 100 mushroom grass mud blocks, and should probably be combined with the 'It Can Talk?!' achievement by building a house in the new biome.

You may also need to wait for mushrooms to grow before this achievement is earnt. The screenshot here shows a mushroom biome that awarded the achievement.

Into Orbit
You can only go down from here!

Reach the highest point in the world. This can be done through placing blocks beneath you and building upwards. It is recommended to bring weapons to fight enemies that spawn in the sky, such as Harpies and Wyverns, as well as items that help avoid falling to your death, such as grappling hooks, cloud in a bottle or wings.

Another easy method is to simply use a Gravitation Potion. Requires Fireblossom, Deathweed, Blinkroot, feather and bottled water to craft at a placed bottle station.

Rock Bottom
The only way is up!

Reach the bottom of the world map. This is just below the lava floor in the Underworld biome.

It Can Talk?!
Build a house in a mushroom biome and have Truffle move in.

Truffle is an NPC only available once Hardmode is enabled in the player's world. By building an NPC-friendly house in a Mushroom biome (near 100 blocks of Mushroom Grass, Plants and trees), Truffle will automatically move in eventually.

Watch Your Step!
Become a victim to a nasty underground trap.

Traps are found mostly in the underground layer of a world and chances are that you will fall victim to one without trying. However, once can lookout for a boulder, dart traps or pressure plates, which are all visual telltales of traps. If you hold out a wire-related item such as wire, wrench or pliers, then all wire will be visible and could help to locate traps.

You Can Do It!
Survive your character's first full night.

An easy achievement. Night begins at 7:30PM and ends at 4:30AM. In terms of real life time, that's 9 minutes.

The Queen Bee has a 1/3 (33%) chance of dropping a Bee Gun on death.

Summon all three Mechanical Bosses simultaneously through the use of summoning items (see: Bucket of Bolts achievement for crafting recipe details).

These bosses can only be summoned during the night from 7:30PM until 4:30AM, giving you 9 minutes in real life to defeat all three bosses. It is recommended that you do not attempt this until you are comfortable with each boss, as well as being equipped with good Hardmode gear and weapons.

This can be gained over time and counts all types of tiles.

Lucky Break
Survive a long fall with just a sliver of health remaining.

Fall damage is calculated as damage = 10(h-25) where h is the the number of blocks. So to easily obtain this achievement, unequip all your armor, make a platform 24 blocks (one less to avoid dying) + the number of blocks equal to your health divided by 10 (for example, if you have 200 health, you would build an additional 20 blocks onto the already placed 24 blocks), and then walk off it onto the ground, and hope you survive.

Throwing Lines
Throw a yoyo.

First, craft a yoyo with 20 cobweb and 10 wood. Then simply equip and use it.

To earn this achievement, Hardmode must be enabled. Two objects are required - Blessed Apple and the Rainbow Gun.

The Rainbow Gun can be found in Hallowed Chests, unlocked with Hallowed Keys, in the Dungeon. The key can only be found when Hardmode is enabled.

Once Hardmode is enabled, the world will generate Hallowed biomes. Killing any of the underground Hallow enemies will have a chance of dropping a mount summoning item called Blessed Apple.

Any one of these items, along with various armor set bonuses, accessories and temporary potion buffs will grant the player to summon up to 9 minions simultaneously.
Challenger Achievements [Crown] [2]
Marathon Medalist
Travel a total of 26.2 miles on foot.

In the game, each block represents 2 feet. 26.2 miles is equivalent to 69,168 blocks ingame. A large world map is 16,800 blocks wide. This means that travelling from one side of the world to the other a little over 4 times should be enough to earn the achievement.

Servant-in-Training
Complete your 1st quest for the angler.

Good Little Slave
Complete your 10th quest for the angler.

Trout Monkey
Complete your 25th quest for the angler.

Fast and Fishious
Complete your 50th quest for the angler.

Supreme Helper Minion!
Complete a grand total of 200 quests for the angler.

The angler is a town NPC that can move in when an acceptable and available house is built after a player has found him in an ocean biome.
The angler will offer a player one quest per day. The quest is available right up to just before the morning of the following day (4:30am - 4:29am). If you complete a quest during the day, the Angler will tell you he does not have anything for you until the following morning.
These quests are per player and will not count towards other players' achievements in a multiplayer server, but all players can complete the quest on a server on one day.
We won't go into too much detail here about farming these quests. There are many available right here on the Steam community, as well as elsewhere online. Don't have to go far.

Topped Off
Attain maximum health and mana possible without accessories or buffs.

  • The maximum health without accessories or buffs is 500. This is achievable through collecting 15 Life Crystals (an uncommon pre-hardmode object found anywhere underground) and 20 Life Fruits (Hardmode object found in Underground Jungle biome.
  • The maximum mana without accessories or buffs is 200. This is achievable through collecting 10 Mana Crystals (crafted from 3 Fallen Stars each)

Slayer of Worlds
Defeat every boss in Terraria.

As of Terraria version 1.3.0.2, there are 7 pre-Hardmode bosses, 8 Hardmode bosses and 11 Event bosses for a total of 26 bosses in the game. While this achievement presumably ignores the Event Bosses, the achievements list 14 bosses, so in order to gain this achievement the player must defeat:
    Pre-Hardmode
  • Eye of Cthulhu
  • Eater of Worlds OR Brain of Cthulhu
  • Queen Bee
  • Skeletron
  • Wall of Flesh
  • King Slime
    Hardmode
  • The Twins
  • The Destroyer
  • Skeletron Prime
  • Plantera
  • Golem
  • Duke Fishron
  • Lunatic Cultist

Journey's Actual End - 1.4.1 [1]
Enemies
Just Desserts
Defeat Queen Slime, giving the coup-de-grace to the sovereign of all that jiggles.

A hardmode boss that can be summoned using the Gelatin Crystal only usable in the Hallow. Gelatin Crystals can be found in the Hallow from Pearlstone or Pink Ice Blocks and appear similar to Crystal Shards. As such, they can be farmed similarly with a crystal shard farm.

Fae Flayer
Defeat the Empress of Light, responsible for all those flashy lights and glitter.

A hardmode post-plantera boss that can be fought in The Hallow. The Empress of Light can only be summoned by killing a Prismatic Lacewing that spawns on the surface of The Hallow from 7:30PM to 12:00 AM. The Prismatic Lacewing can be detected by the Lifeform Analyzer and can also be caught with a bug net to save the fight for later. It is possible to summon her outside of the Hallow but the Prismatic Lacewing will disappear very quickly.

If summoned during the day, the Empress of Light will OHKO with all attacks and will despawn when it's night time. If summoned during the night, the Empress of Light will no longer OHKO, but still has a high attack power.

Don't Dread on Me
Defeat the Dreadnautilus, murderous mollusk lurking beneath the surface of the sanguine seas.

This is a hardmode boss that can be fought by fishing during a Blood Moon. Blood Moons can be triggered using a Bloody Tear at night, cannot be used during the day. Bloody Tears are uncommon drops during Blood Moons.

It's recommended to have Sonar Potions as those reveal the entity that's at the end of your hook making the boss easier to find. Also to note that the boss will leave at dawn.

Hero of Etheria
Repel the strongest forces the Old One's Army can muster.

The Old One's Army is a collaboration event with Dungeon Defenders. After defeating the Eater of Worlds or Brain of Cthulhu based on your world, you can find an NPC named Unconscious Man which is actually the Tavernkeep. He sells the Eternia Crystal as well as the Eternia Crystal Stand which is used to trigger the army invasion.

You must do this AFTER defeating the golem in order to enter the last tier of the event that contains 7 waves and the boss Betsy.

In order to setup the event, you will need to place the stand on a flat surface and the left/right of the stand must also be flat until the edge of the screen where the portal spawns.

Miscellaneous
A Rather Blustery Day
Fly a kite on a windy day.

Windy Days occur when the wind speed exceeds 20mph which can be detected by the Weather Radio, but has visible effects on the environment, such as trees being bent, vines swaying, snowstorms, thunderstorms, and sandstorms.

Slimes with balloons spawn during windy days and may drop a kite. Kites are also available for purchase from NPCs during Windy Days. Simply fly a kite during these days.

Heliophobia
Trick a gnome into turning into stone!

Gnomes turn to stone by being hit by sunlight, so you need to lure a gnome to the surface. Gnomes commonly spawn in Living Tree root systems that have easy access to the surface so it's best to find one there.

Dead Men Tell No Tales
You were so preoccupied with whether or not you could open the chest that you didn't stop to think if you should.

The specific requirement for this achievement is to merely die within 10 seconds after opening a dead man's chest. The method of death can be anything. If you've taken a dead man's chest, you can rig it yourself with wires and traps and open it repeatedly until you die, or simply place it next to level and burn in lava.

If you don't have a dead man's chest, there are guides that provide a world seed where you can find one easily.

Feeling Petty
Deliver headpats to the town pet.

Town pets are obtainable from the Zoologist whose requirement is to obtain at least 10% of the bestiary (53 monsters). Once the Zoologist arrives, you can purchase a pet license (the cat will be available first). The town pet operates similarly to NPC such that you can move them around and assign them to a house. Interact with the town pet and pet it.

Hey! Listen!
Encounter a fairy.

Fairies are a natural spawn as long as there are fallen logs on the map. Fallen logs are automatically generated and cannot be created, so once all the fallen logs are destroyed in a world, fairies will stop spawning.

Alternatively, fairies can be forced to spawn by hitting hallowed trees with an axe (equivalent of shaking).

Hot Reels!
Drop a lure in a pool of lava for a pre-fried haul!

Option 1: Bait
You can craft a lava proof bug net with a bug net and 15 hellstone bars using a Hellforge. Then catch a lava critter and use that to go fishing in lava with a regular pole.

Option 2: Lavaproof Fishing Hook
If for whatever reason you have this which can only be obtained from Hellstone Crates and Obsidian Crates from fishing in lava, then this accessory will allow you to fish in lava. It is upgradeable into a Lavaproof Tackle Bag.

Option 3: Hotline Fishing Hook
This is a lavaproof fishing pole and will allow you to fish in lava using regular bait. This method is difficult due how rare the lavaproof fishign pole is from the angler quests. But if you already have the pole, then simply cast into lava.

Leading Landlord
Meet with a tenant who's as happy as they possibly can be!

The easiest setup for this is to build 3 houses in the Hallow next to each other for the Wizard, Zoologist and Party Girl. After they all move in, simply talk to the Party Girl.

Jolly Jamboree
What you're celebrating doesn't matter, just throw a party already!

The Party Girl sells a Party Center item, buy it, place it, and activate it.

Quiet Neighborhood
Enter a misty graveyard filled with the surly dead.

The graveyard biome can be created by placing multiple tombstones within close proximity.
Labor of Love - 1.4.4
An Eye For An Eye
Defeat Deerclops, the chilly one-eyed monstrosity from a foreign land.

Deerclops is a boss that can spawn in the Snow biome. If a player has at least 200 health (or 9 defense), then it can spawn at midnight during a blizzard.

Deerclops can also be triggered manually using a Deer Thing, which can be crafted at an altar (demon/crimson) using Flinx Fur, a Lens and Crimtane/Demonite Ore.

Unusual Survival Strategies
Delay death from drowning by drinking water. It doesn't make much sense, but you did what you had to do.

Stay underwater until your breathe runs out and you start taking damage. While taking damage, drink bottled water to restore some health.
You can craft bottled water at a sink or while standing in water, using a glass bottle.

Torch God
Invoked the wrath of the God of Torches, and survived long enough to earn its blessing.

To start the Torch God event, you need over 100 torches within a reasonably small area underground. Stay alive until the barrage of projectiles ends and you will be rewarded with the Torch God's Favor item. Consume this item to unlock the achievement.

A Rare Realm
Some very special seeds can lead to unique and rewarding experiences. Can you find one?

There are some secret world seeds that produces worlds with various notable features. To get this achievement you simply need to enter a world generated using one of these seeds. Here are a few seeds you can use:
  • not the bees
  • constant
  • get fixed boi
  • for the worthy

The Great Slime Mitosis
Find all of the Slime Pets and have them move in!

Slime Pets or Town Slimes are able to move into town similar to the cat, dog and bunny. There are 8 town slimes, each unlocked in different ways:
  • Cool Slime: appears when there is an active party, spawned naturally
  • Clumsy Slime: found floating with a balloon in the higher Space Layer
  • Diva Slime: appears after throwing a Sparkle Slime Balloon into Shimmer
  • Elder Slime: found in an Old Shaking Chest in the Cavern Layer, once Skeletron has been defeated
  • Mystic Slime: appears after using Purification Powder on a Mystic Frog in the jungle
  • Nerdy Slime: appears after defeating King Slime
  • Squire Slime: appears when a Copper Shortsword or Helmet is dropped onto a slime
  • Surly Slime: found by fishing during a Blood Moon

A Shimmer In The Dark
Shimmer an item into another item. What other transmutations can you find?

You can find shimmer liquid underground in the Aether cave biome or craft a Bottomless Shimmer Bucket using a Bottomless Water Bucket and 10 Luminite bars.
Then drop something in to see if it can be transmutated, for example the Clentaminator can be turned into the Terraformer.

And Good Riddance!
Completely purify all Corruption, Crimson, and Hallow from your world, until the Dryad is satisfied!

Grab the Clentaminator (or shimmer it into the Terraformer) and use it with the green solution to purify any Hallow, Corruption or Crimson from the world.
This can be done on a new small world, before hallow has been added and before the corruption/crimson starts spreading.

To Infinity... and Beyond!
Fly a Kwad Racer into outer space.

The Kwad Racer Drone can be purchased from the Cyborg NPC once Plantera has been defeated. Once bought, throw it out and send it straight up into the sky.

Guys, I'm one achievement away from completing the game, which is the supreme minion, and I haven't spent more than 100 hours (thanks for the guide).
「 Johno 」 21 Jun, 2023 @ 4:57am
About the ankhmutation achievement, you could mention the fact that the shimmer can be used to transmute each tier 1 accessory to its required counterpart for crafting the tier2 accessory. This saves a lot of time of grinding and switching biomes.

There's an achievement file under Steam where the achievements are setup. So if you lose that, not sure how you would be able to restore it.

Has anyone else run into a problem where in-game achievements and steam achievements no longer sync? I got almost all achievements (103/104) but when i'm playing it shows I no longer have those achievements and i'm regaining them once again. Is there a way to re-sync them back to my steam profile so i can complete all the achievements?
ponkberry  [author] 22 Nov, 2021 @ 6:02pm
Yeah, there aren't any difficulty related achievements.
Kreddi 22 Nov, 2021 @ 8:53am
So there are no achievements you need to play in Mastermode to obtain, right?
