He provides a lot of things you need to know about the patch without going through the hassle of downloading(installing) unnecessary software for patched voice. I would like to give him a little credit for making things easier for me but I suggest directly search "patch" in the discussion and look for his post.
That is what I've experimented and that's how I confirmed that the patch is installed correctly, not sure about progress however since I've played it first beforehand and patched it along the way on my first playthrough and I already see the difference in comparison to a lot of vids I've watched on youtube.
