Achievement - Beast Master - Part 4 - Paloms Tale

A complete bestiary for the fourth chapter of the game - Paloms Tale

This is also an achievment guide and we will be getting these acheivements throughout the series:

Taming the Wild (30% total Bestiary)
A Tale to Tell (100% of one Tale)
The Point of no Return(60% total Bestiary)
Beast Master(100% total Bestiary)

When looking online it was hard to find a bestiary that was in the correct order or had the correct creatures due to the multiple versions of the game available. I cobbled together this resource from various forums and the Wikia and then followed through the first chapter myself to validate everything. I intend to follow this guide with a Bestiary for each chapter as I go!

I am going to lay this out in two ways:

1. The optimal or first location encountering an enemy broken down by area. (Scripted encounters will be considered optimal)
2. A complete list from the Bestiary in numerical order.

If you are having trouble locating a monster listed in a specific zone then scroll to the bottom to see where else you might find it.

Fangshell in Troia waterway found in water in first screen after save entrance. Wouldn't pop anywhere else and looking forever. Couldn't find info online so here it is for anyone searching if they go back to this game.

The stronger monsters in the Troia outskirts appear both, to the far east of Troia and North near the Black Chocobo forest. The Eyewing Moth, for anyone having trouble, ONLY appeared (at least for me) near the Black Chocobo forest north of Troia. As you approach the forest, open your menu and notice your location has changed from Troia to Overworld. Overworld was the only place I could seem to find Eyewing Moth.

I've also found Skeletons on "Overworld", but only one fight, so probably not optimal location.

You say all enemies are in "Troia Outskirts", but some of them show up only when it says "Troia" in the menu, while others need you to be where it says "Overworld" (like closer to the black chocobo forest north of Troia, at least that's what it was on FF4).

Troia (weaker enemies): Goblin, Sword Rat, Helldiver, Floating Eye
Overworld (stronger enemies): Larva, Eyewing Moth, Cockatrice, Spirit, Bomb, Gargoyle.

Sorry, it's been a long time since I made this, I can tell you that all locations in this guide I verified personally while playing the game meaning I found the moster in that location. Check the wikia entry (linked in the guide) to see if there is anything special about the encounter I didn't list =)

I have searched for hours and cannot seem to get the fangshell in troia waterway to appear. Anything I'm doing wrong?

Try the grasslands, found it hard to get in the forests!

Skeleton can be found in Troia Outskirts.
Btw, I am having difficulty getting the Eyewing Moth entry

They are generally sorted by floors and rooms so you can grab them all in the same spots
