wasteland - Half-Life 2 Beta

wasteland is a short map inspired by Viktor Antonov, created by Pan Zwieracz. Its an in game take on a piece of concept art that Viktor created for the development of Half-Life 2. The depot found in the map takes place during the Wasteland chapter where Gordon Freeman had to explore a drained ocean to find his way to the AireX facility.

There are no enemy NPCs for the player to interact with, however there is a Rebel NPC that you meet at the very end of the map. The goal of the map is to reach the top of the building and take the train ride to presumably the Depot.

The map contains excellent detail and use of music, in a corner there is an active minefield that players be aware of when they cross it.

UPDATE - 05/05/2015 - The Workshop upload has been updated so that it now includes a second version of "wasteland" called "wasteland_combat". The new version contains several weapons for the player to pick up and use and enemies to fight while heading for the objective. "wasteland_combat" also comes with a map icon, making it easier for players to find it on the map select screen.

UPDATE - 18/05/2015 - The Workshop upload has been updated so that now both versions of "wasteland" now come with .NAV files. NPC's and Custom NPC's are now able to freely roam the map without any problems.
