De Jeefk0

Step 1 - Properly joining the game
After launching the game, messing with all the settings neccessary and finding the Matchmaking button, it's finally showtime. Just for the love of god, don't play on normal unless you're seriously ♥♥♥♥ and\or have absolute 0 experience yet. As soon as you enter the server, make sure you have this character chosen:

Play as Mr. Foster. This is archcrucial!

After making sure that you are, indeed, playing as the one and only Mr. Foster, make sure that you're also using the Support perk, and not some bad tiny toygun based perk.

Don't pick lvl 0 Commando. Support is crucial!
*there is an exception to picking perks, described in Bonus step - Foster meta below

After doublechecking on that, you're good to press the big juicy Ready button.

Step 2 - Properly earning Dosh
*Dosh = ingame currency.

SOLO
If you were unlucky enough to join an empty server, that is a little bit unfortunate but absolutely not fatal by any means. [but note that if you are playing solo on purpose, you are a sad sad person]
All you have to do is kill Zeds and earn Dosh by doing so. Zeds look somewhat like this:

Cash on legs
In order to kill any type of Zed, all you have to do is click Mouse button 1, also known as LMB while looking at the Zed. Sooner or later, it will get done and you will earn your sweet sweet Dosh. After gaining enough Dosh, get to the Trader.

Buying big soddin' guns at the Trader is crucial!
Purchase a Double-barrel boomstick, and a few waves later add an AA12 to it, replacing the basic shotgun. Selling random weapon drops will help to get there faster as well.

Come on, you know it's classy

Get AA12, this is Crucial!
*there is a trick to help you earn more dosh by selling guns, it is described in Bonus step - Foster meta below

COOP
This is what the real Killing Floor (2) experience is. Playing as a team, supporting one another and helping out in the most dangerous situations, that is what we love our squads for. But enough praising.
As soon as you spawn in, you need to check on the wave number. If you and the team have only begun playing and it is only Wave 1, then employ the Zeds killing strategy from the SOLO part of this guide up to the point where you're done with the wave. After that, or if you have spawned into the game on wave finish, your next goal is to get to the trader and locate your teammates. Your teammates should look somewhat like this:

Cash on legs
If your teammate doesn't quite represent what you see on this picture, you may want to check if it's a Zed by shooting it (LMB) several times (LMB, LMB, LMB). A real teammate won't get hurt nor will it get mad, spychecking is a very common online gaming feature. On finding your teammates, ask politely for all the Dosh they can spare. You can do so by using one of the multiple methods kindly provided by the game: Pressing Y key will bring up the chat menu, where the player can say things in text form; Pressing CAPS LOCK will enable the microphone communication, allowing the player to say things in voice form; Holding Z key will bring up the built-in voice communication menu, allowing the player to ask for Dosh by moving the mouse to the left.

*Note that these are default keys representing said actions and may vary depending on what you have done with your settings, you monster.

Just like in the solo mode, after gaining enough Dosh from the Dosh shower created by your lovely teammates, treat yourself to a Double-barrel boomstick, and an AA12, because this is Crucial for your success!

*the gun selling trick also works in multiplayer games, it is described in Bonus step - Foster meta below
Step 3 - Properly winning the game
Remember the guns you brought? You really do? Good. Because this is how you properly win the game as Mr. Foster, you use these guns. And by guns I mostly mean the AA12 because of its absolutely marvelous penetration and firepower, not to mention the magazine, so one can say that you have basically won already..
BUT WAIT!
There is, however, one more crucial thing you need to learn about using this weapon.
Let's say you encounter something really big and really nasty:

Some other bloody wankstein Zed, slightly buff
You see, even though you do know a lot about proper Fostering at this point, some situations might prove it difficult to leftclick any kind of Zed to death in one go. And with the bigger exemplars such as the one shown, it might result in you dying miserably and failing the team. In order to avoid such fate, Mr. Foster has a unique secret technique, allowing him to murder any kind of Zed with relative ease. And that technique is called "MY AA12 WILL KICK 'EM IN THE EAD". Of course it will take the player hours and days of practice to master this method, but if you'd ask me to put it short and bluntly, I'd describe it as 'aim for the head'.

Kicking them in the 'ead is crucial!
This trick is very worth using and I'd highly recommend you including it in your gaming repertoire as a Mr. Foster enthusiast. If you ever hear a Mr. Foster say that secret phrase, you must know that he is ready to overcome all and any difficulties possible.

*Note that shooting in the 'ead can be done with Double Barrels too, but in case of that gun, it's suggested to always use both barrels shot [MM] for massive damage.

Thanks for reading the main part!
And remember - practicing with AA12 is crucial for your success!
Bonus step - Foster meta (patched out)
Mr. Foster himself is a known sucker for Support skills.

HOWEVER, if you have a high level Medic or Commando perk, you should start the game being one of them, then switch to Support and keep playing as Support until the end of the map.

I KNOW I KNOW, IT’S HARD TO LET GO OF YOUR TRUSTY STOCK SHOTTY, AND LVL 25 SUPPORT NADES, AND IT IS TEDIOUS TO OPEN UP THE PERK MENU EVERY TIME,

but that way you will enjoy your standart Support bonuses combined with Medic (or Commando) hp and armour buffs, so Fosty can deliver even better and longer while earning his bloody dosh!

Speaking of earning currency, there is a curren-tly present bug that allows you to add an additional 50 dosh to every gun you sell to the trader. In order to do that, make sure you drop the gun you have, and then pick it up again. It only adds the 50 dosh bonus once, but it is worth doing every time for Fosty can use all the dosh he can get!

Build 1009 beta update: You cannot add extra value to dropped weapons. Perk bonuses are also instantly disabled on switch.

* meta, as well as the whole guide, might be updated if there are any notable patch changes

your all fur coat no knickers. Mr. Foster is a proper day trader, chasing dosh is his thing. Nothing says dosh like actually saying dosh as in having a giant DOSH written on the back of your jacket. Wayne Rooneys smarter than you! :Dosh: :MrFoster:

'scuse me, mate. But we don't promote pay-to-win gaming tactics. Nothing bad with using the skins you like, but having certain skins on all the time is absolutely not crucial for the proper Foster experience! :MrFoster:
