Introduction
Hello fellow Truckers!

Welome to my litte guide which is all about the rather hard "Minimaxer" achievement.
If you wanna know the exact "how to do", then continue on reading. :)

Every player who wants to get 100% achievements will eventually stumble upon this one. Although it seems impossible at first, when you know what you are doing you will get this achievement guaranteed.
Step 1: Requirements
Before heading on, make sure you meet the following requirements first:

  • Level 10+ (with 6 points spent in ADR, 1 in long range, 1 in fragile and 2 in "just in time")
  • 10+ hours of "real life" time
  • Decent driving skills (cause no trailer damage allowed, i will explain later)
  • You need to have an own truck
  • Please disable any mods (multiplayer mod, promod, etc. ) or other plugins - there is a risk that they mess up the achievement!
  • Do not drive in Convoys while attempting this achievement, reports so far indicate that this will break your progress!
Step 2: The theory
Well, now that you have checked the requirements let's move on to the boring theoretical part ;)

Let's have a look at the achievement first:

This means we have to gain > 20.000 XP in < 10.000 KM, which equals in more than 2 XP per KM.

Now that we know that, we need to find jobs that qualify for that requirement.
Currently, the maximum amount of XP can be gained from the following job attributes:

  • Long range jobs > 250km: +25% XP
  • ADR: +21% XP
  • Fragile: +22% XP
  • Just in time / very urgent: +30% XP

If we add that up we end at +98% XP Bonus when the job has this attributes.
But how do we get > +100% XP you may ask?
Well, you always have to park the trailer manually with the highest difficulty , which adds a constant of +40/+90 XP (depending on location drop-off difficulty) that will bring us over the +100% mark that we need.

Hold on, we have to rule out one more variable: The maximum KM length of a job, see the reason here:

Cause of the constant +40/90XP when manually parking a trailer, there is a maximum haulin' length where these +40/90XP cannot close the missing 2% XP gap that would bring us over +100% XP.

Now minimum length is 250KM, otherwise we wouldn't gaining the long haulin' bonus.
(250KM * 0,98 + 250KM + 40XP) / 2 = 267,5
The result of this calculation has to be greather than the distance (in this case 250KM), so we would get > 2XP/KM.

+40XP drop-off location:
Here is the answer: 2000KM
At exactly 2000KM you get 2XP/KM
(2000KM * 0,98 + 2000KM + 40XP) / 2 = 2000 which equals 2XP/KM, so you should stay well under 2000KM to make good progress (although getting over 2000KM is challenging anyway ;)

+90XP drop-off location:
If you happen to know that you drop-off at a +90XP location for certain, your traveling distance can be up to 4500KM - so hit me up when that Russia DLC releases ;)
(4500KM * 0,98 + 4500KM + 90XP) / 2 = 4500

Bonus math: +15XP drop-off location:
Well, if you really struggle with parking you can also choose the +15XP easy parking.
However, by doing so you limit yourself to a maximum haulin' lenght of 750KM!
(750KM * 0,98 + 750KM + 15XP) / 2 = 750

Tl;dr: Minimum 250KM - Maximum 750KM(+15XP)/2000KM(+40XP)/4500KM(+90XP)

Now the final conclusion: We are looking for ADR, fragile and very urgent jobs from 250KM to 2000KM

Step 3: Putting things into practice
Now that we know what we have to look for, let's get things done!

Step 1: Get into your own truck and drive to a rest place (motel, your own garage, truck dealer, etc.)
I will explain why later on.

Step 2: Use "Quick Jobs" only. Reason for that is that you will have extra work when you have to teleport/drive to other cities to get a good job. Additionally quick traveling eats up a lot of ingame time which often causes the jobs to disappear. "Quick Jobs" are instant available.

Step 3: When browsing quick jobs, filer them for ADR, very urgent and fragile:

Step 4: Select a job which meets our defined criterias from "Step 2: The theory":

Step 5: Do the job but watch out for 0% cargo/freight damage (truck damage and trailer damage is ok, it will eventually happen because of tire wear)
Remember to save often to avoid frustration.

Step 6: When completed, you should get more than 2XP/KM:

Step 7: Write down how many KM you have driven and how many XP you have earned after each job so you don't loose track of your progress. Personally, I have written it down with classic pen & paper ;)

Step 8: Go to step 3 and make your way towards 10.000 KM (it will take several hours)

If you can't find a suitable job, don't panic! This is why I told you to park your truck at a rest place - now you can sleep up to 3 times to "reload" new jobs. Also, you don't necessary have to sleep as you will always be fully rested when starting a new "quick job".

After you reach 20.000 XP within (see additional note below) 10.000 KM the achievement will unlock.

Additional notes:
Note #1: First, this is how my progress looked like:

Job 1: 561 KM / 1.154 XP
Job 2: 707 KM / 1.443 XP
Job 3: 659 KM / 1.347 XP
Job 4: 665 KM / 1.360 XP
Job 5: 567 KM / 1.166 XP
Job 6: 692 KM / 1.414 XP
Job 7: 268 KM / 574 XP
Job 8: 474 KM / 982 XP
Job 9: 580 KM / 1.192 XP
Job 10: 438 KM / 910 XP
Job 11: 692 KM / 1.414 XP
Job 12: 744 KM / 1.517 XP
Job 13: 383 KM / 801 XP
Job 14: 674 KM / 1.378 XP
Job 15: 764 KM / 1.557 XP
Job 16: 797 KM / 1.622 XP

Now when you add up those numbers you will end at 9665 KM / 19831 XP.
This means i had 335 KM left to make 169 XP.
I took a random 313 KM job which easily gave 169 XP.

Job 17: 313 KM / 631 XP
Total: 9978 KM / 20462 XP --> Unlock :)

Now the game will always look at the past 10.000km and check if you (basically a "rolling" progress) meet the requirements, so just keep going until you eventually unlock it :)

Note #2:
Please also note that there is strong evidence that the game only counts the calculated KM's that it shows you in the job overview towards the achievement. (see the discussion in this thread: Steam Forum)
So I advise you to follow the advertised route and not take any any extra detours to keep the "margin of error" between the advertised job distance and the actual driven distance as close as possible.
Shoutout to user kaki_gamet for the hint!
Final conclusion
Thank you for reading my guide so far, I hope you will be able to unlock the achievement with these tips.

Although the game makes it rather hard to unlock as it is a bit stingy with XP, it is still possible.

if you liked my guide, please don't forget to rate it or leave a comment and forward it to other truckers who might struggle with this one ;)

Have a safe ride, see you on the road !

I'm not saying that you have a bad guide, no :)
There are many people who complete games 100% achv. and many achievements can be done at the same time .
"Minimaxer" and "Driver Exceptionel" can be perfectly combined and will save you some time
By the way, you don't have to go all 10k km, reaching D.E. is done a little earlier. So almost half of 10k you can not worry so much about EX because you have already made a significant difference due to special transports

@Fitanik: Of course that is a possibility, but I wanted to guide people with the vanilla game :)
.... and driving 10.000km with Special Transport might take more time too :)
Fitanik 28 de jul. às 11:18
Hey, there are a way easier way to complete this
You need Special Transport DLC
If you will comply "Driver Exceptionnel" you will get it almost without problems, since the EX there is given almost 3 times more than km

"Edited step #3, note #1 to highlight that the achievement is always based on the last 10.000 km driven ("rolling" progress)"

So I don't need a new profile to get the achievement?

Thanks for this guide.

The mathematical analysis is excellent, and I have only one comment on that. The fixed amount for parking means that even below 250 km (no +25% long range bonus), jobs with 90 XP parking will deliver an XP to Km ratio over 2. And jobs up to 150 km with 40 XP parking will deliver an XP to Km ratio of at least 2.

However , note #2 is the most important piece of information in your post. Your advice to drive as close as possible to the contract distance is wrong though. The best way of achieving a high XP to Km ratio is to take the shortest jobs with the most spare time, and use that spare time to drive as many kms as possible.

My last job in getting this achievement was Zurich to Stuttgart, contract distance 243 km (no +25% long range bonus), but yielded 1257 XP, a XP to Km ratio of 5.17, because I drove 676 km. Even without the urgent, fragile, ADR, and parking bonuses the base XP had a ratio of 2.78.
