Then you're in the (probably) right place! Let's get to the stuff required for making these changes happen for your ULTRAKILLing pleasure.

For both versions.

• You need ULTRAKILL on Steam. Can be current Version or Version 15d in depot file. I'll put the steam store page here for you to check if you have it cus why not hehe

• BepInEx. Latest version work. Needed for the mods to work. Link here [github.com]
  
• Any photo editing software like Photoshop, CorelDRAW, or Paint if you fancy. This will be used for making the rank style of your own with presets available in the mod's folder.

Specifically Version 16d. I'll update this guide when the newer versions of ULTRAKILL comes out.

• UKPluginConfigurator made by EternalsTeam. Specifically version 1.10.2 which is the latest as of writing this guide. This mod is needed for UltrakillStyleEditor. Link here [github.com]
  
• UltrakillStyleEditor made by EternalsTeam. Specifically version 1.0.5. This allows you to edit Style Bonuses (those words that appear after "+"). Link here [github.com]
  
• UK NewTitles Rank Title Editor made by notrlguyyah. The latest version. This allows you to edit Style Ranks (you probably know which one), although it requires the use of photo editing software. Manually download the file [thunderstore.io]
  

This is for people like me who has downloaded ULTRAKILL version 15d through Steam Console (If there isn't a guide for it, I'll make one someday). We'll be using three mods mentioned in the current version tab, though with downgraded version so that everything should work for the downgraded version. I'll be using my case which has worked so far.

• UK NewTitles Rank Title Editor made by notrlguyyah. The latest version. In my case, this still works for Version 15d. I'm aware of Waff1e's RankTitleSwapper, but I'm too lazy of trying that out. Manually download the file [thunderstore.io]
  

It shouldn't be too hard to download files from github; I've set the links to the specific version release page anyway. Just download the files with version under Assets tab.

If you don't intend on using UK NewTitles Rank Title Editor (which replaces Style Ranks), you can use a mod manager for Current Version to install BepInEx and two mods made by EternalTeams that I mentioned. I won't explore on this matter though, including using r2modman on version 15d.


Sadly, I tried installing NewTitles mod with r2modman and the mod doesn't work. I'm not a techie, so I don't know how to fix the problem. So that's why I set bunch of links in the previous section because we're going to mod ULTRAKILL manually.

Make a new folder, put the files that you have downloaded or just leave them in Download folder. I'm not your Gabe.




Extract the contents of BepInEx zip file, and copy all the contents into your ULTRAKILL folder. If you don't know where your ULTRAKILL folder is, Right Click ULTRAKILL from your Library and hover your cursor to Manage -- there should be a buttont that says "Browse local files" for you to click.



Boot up the game, and BepInEx will generate some files and folders. After that, exit the game through the In-Game exit button just to be safe.
The BepInEx folder should have some folders like these after exiting the game.


At this point, you're ready to install the mods into the plugin folder now! Congrats! (/≧▽≦)/

A convenient way is to just select all three mods, extract to one folder and press "Yes to all". Then go inside the folder and copy/cut the Plugin folder -- it has three files each from its zip file.



Go to your ULTRAKILL folder, then BepInEx folder, and paste it there -- it will fill the plugin folder with the mods above.



Now we shall test by booting up the game!
In the Options menu, there should be a new button on the left upper corner of the screen. It should have things like these.



If that's the case, then you have successfully installed the mods! Yippiiee! \^o^/

In the Plugin Config, there should be an entry for the mod mentioned in the section name. Press the Configure button, and you can see some categories of style bonuses.
There are a lot, so take your time finding cool references from your favorite shows, favorite youtubers (especially shocking ones wink wink), and other stuff for your style bonuses to be better!




I'll have to open the Misc Styles menu and find the parry style, then I'll press the pencil button next to the text bar for Parry Style to start editing!

I'll have to drag the slider for Green and Blue to the very left so that the color box becomes red, then delete what's on the text bar so that I change it into this!



When I'm done, I press the ESC button to exit editing page and the changes have been applied.



Now let's give it a try! I'll go to 0-1 to parry some shots from Strays.



Now there are a lot of Style Bonuses for you to edit. Have fun, Sinners. [ultrakill.fandom.com]

The mod has some presets available in the file itself. Go to BepInEx folder, plugin folder, open the "UK_NewTitles" folder. There should be this folder, which has the pictures.



Select an image, drag it into Photoshop or your choice of Photo Editing Software (the canvas should be 300x100 pixels), and start editing!

For the font of the ranks, here is the link taken from the description of this mod. Link here[fonts.google.com]

I can help a bit on photoshop. To remove the white text, use a selection tool that draws a selecting square (in my case, Rectangular Marquee tool) and then press Del/Delete button to erase whatever is in the square (Don't forget to select the layer that has the text!).



After that, put in some text! For the text to be a bit smoother than pixelated, I suggest to try the setting I marked with red.



Just hide the background layer by pressing the eye icon, and export the picture as PNG, and you've made your own ULTRAKILL Style Rank!
Of course, it doesn't have to use the same font, nor does it have to be just a word! You can use pictures! Just be more creative! (‾◡◝)

By now, you should have made 8 custom ranks. They must be named like this (my example).



You're ready to use them in the game! Copy all the pictures, go to the UK_NewTitles folder and paste them there!



And that's it! You're ready to see your creations being displayed as Style Ranks for your ULTRAKILL experience~
