How to enable HDR

Here is how you can enable proper HDR in Whiskerwood using RenoDX.

The game currently lacks native HDR support and while NVIDIA RTX HDR is available, it makes the UI extremely bright.

1. Download and open Reshade installer.
https://reshade.me/downloads/ReShade_Setup_Addon.exe


2. Select the DirectX 11/12 option, and choose the game's executable located here:
...steamapps\common\Whiskerwood\Whiskerwood\Binaries\Win64\Whiskerwood-Win64-Shipping.exe




3. Go to this page: https://github.com/clshortfuse/renodx/wiki/Mods#multi-game-mods
Download the file renodx-unrealengine.addon64 and place it in the same folder as the game’s .exe.



The folder should look like this:



4. Launch the game.
A black screen may appear at first, don’t worry. Press HOME to open ReShade. In the RenoDX window that appears, set the Settings Mode to Advanced.
A longer list of options will appear. Find
R10G10B10A2_UNORM
and change it to
Output size




5. Restart the game. HDR should now be enabled.

6. You can press HOME anytime to:
  • Adjust Peak Brightness

  • Modify UI Brightness

  • Toggle HDR on/off to compare the difference and confirm it’s working
