By SneakyDannyboi
It's a simple guide to all the padlocks I've managed to find in the game - with quotes, map pictures, and additional explanations on how to get to them.

UPD 11.11.2025: Found one missing lock, it's added to Silverton section of this guide. Currently looking for the last padlock in the game (#27).

Hi. Looking for these locks with little messages from developers on them in SHCO became an obsession of mine and I’ve spent literal days running through the whole map. The guides I found online (namely this one by sylviastuurman, which seems to have the most entries) were last updated years ago and didn’t have the locks I found on my own, so I’ve decided to create a guide that (as far as I know and oh god do I hope so) has all of them. If you know of any locks that are not mentioned here, PLEASE tell me about them, or make your own guide, or do anything, I’m begging.

Now, let's get down to business. Here's the list of all the locks sorted by area.
Scaladio (6 locks)
“Thanks to those who were close.”
Found on the railing of a huge wooden house on the waterfront. There are boats and barrels near the steps that lead to this balcony, so it's pretty hard to miss.

“Denys plus Anna equals Yan.”
Drinking fountain in a small alley not far from Legacy Theatre. It’s through an archway with a Ristorante sign if you approach from south and near the steps between two houses if you come from north.

“I was here before the lockdown. Olya Sokolova.”
It’s on a grate in the dried out canal. You may know this place as one of the few that Mycroft sends you to during the coin hunt (case In For A Penny…, Hidden Coin #6).

“Shout-out USGB!”
No clue what it means. Either way, it can be found in a suspicious alley (with two dead crows and a bandit guarding the entrance) near Miss Nini’s shop. Walk down the small passage to the right of her atelier and take the first right.

“Can be opened in two weeks, but I wouldn’t.”
Another one on the railing of a waterfront house, but this time it’s on west side of Scaladio. Don’t miss the wooden steps between an overturned boat, some fishing traps, and a couple of grazing goats.

“Napoleon, a schemer, and a spider walk into a pub…”
From Baskerville St. go into the yard of Trattoria that has a fountain and some restaurant tables in it. There is a smaller yard with this tree if you go past the table with a barrel on it.

Miner's End (6 locks)
“Coca is not a drug.”
Go down the long winding road that doesn’t have a name and you shall find the lock on the elevated house near the water. Yet again you may know this general area from In For A Penny… (Hidden Coin #1, follow the road from the place you find it down to the water while keeping to the right).

“Repairing clothes, body, and face. Fast and cheap.”
Found on a pole in a yard between three streets. It’s easiest to enter from Copper St. through the archway in a green wall, then the pole you're looking for will be right in front of you.

“Tomorrow, today will become yesterday.”
Found on a faded red house in another small yard. Best to approach from Lestrade Rd., then you’ll see it immediately.

“Only the Dreamworld is eternal.”
Right next to the Miner’s Market teleportation point, go north from it and take the first left (right after the newsboy).

“The thing is to remain sober for at least today.”
At the very end of Carpenter St. go west through the archway, the lock will be on the pole to your right.

“Dominskyi may sound like a luxurious lingerie brand. But I’ve become a game developer instead.”
This lock is nailed to the supports of the last house at the very end of Beggar’s Rd. There’s also a really beautiful view of the river if you turn around.

Old City (5 locks)
“The beautiful people. MM”
From Castle Rd. go through the archway on your left while facing the city wall, and it will be on the tree to your right.

“Release me!”
This one is hidden in a small yard that can be entered both from Sesame St. and from Medrese St. There's also lots of farm animals in it. If you hear “Baaaah”, you’re in the right place.

“Dulcimer go BRRRR! Piano go BAM BAM!”
Found on the broken police wagon right outside the Old City market.

“Boritesia i poborete.”
It’s on the bridge over the place where Sherlock and Jon buried a skull when they were children. Head straight west from the Bandit Lair, you’ll have to go through the archway with a portcullis and up the stairs, then you'll see the bridge. Fun fact: this is a quote in Ukrainian from Taras Shevchenko’s poem The Caucasus, and it can roughly be translated into “Keep fighting – you are sure to win.”

“Burned out during renovation.”
This one is on the lamp post on the eastern corner of the Imam Zahir Mosque.

Grand Saray (4 locks)
“It’s not an easter egg. Go away.”
Well, bummer. Easter egg or not, it’s found right on the boundary between Grand Saray and Scaladio. Go west from Eastern Grand Saray teleportation point and up the first set of stairs you see, it will be on the grate facing south.

“Frogwares is 21! Here’s to many more years of production and making great games together! Olya.”
Cheers! This one is on Promenade Square, face the sea and find this lock on the white fence after entering an aisle.

“There’s no such thing as problems, Mr. Green, only situations.”
A quote from Guy Ritchie’s Revolver, found on a barrier near Southern Grand Saray teleportation point. Easy to run past if you start from TP, so watch out: it’s past the fountain and right down the stairs, on the level with a bench.

“I came to Cordona looking for love, but all I found were two stray cats. I’m taking them home. I found love. Alexey F.”
Start from the Silent Way in front of these three houses and enter the yard of the one closest to Old Ruins TP. Run around its left side and go straight for the fence. You’ll have to walk on the lawn for this one but I’m sure both you and its owner will survive it.

Silverton (5 locks)
“Look for rabbits! Maria Vasylkovska.”
Go north from Northern Silverton TP and enter a yard on your right through a big wooden gate. There will be a cart with the lock on one of its wheels.

“One must imagine Sisyphus happy.”
A direct quote from Camus' Myth of Sisyphus. Curious! It’s on a small nameless street right off the Cobblepot Rd., on the beams that support the second floor of the two-story house.

“Love in every firefly. Olga Angelova.”
Found in Silverton Port nailed to an empty wagon. The wagon is parked next to a building with faded “Cordona Fish Company” written on it.

“You make my butter fly. Olga Angelova.”
Another one from the same person. You can follow the traintracks all the way from the port here. The lock is on the lamp post next to a dirty wooden fence that’s covered in torn up and faded posters.

"You make me fall for you. Leaves."
On Grange St., there is an unfinished brick wall right next to the Iron bridge. Go through the break in it towards the small island between Scaladio and Silverton. The lock will be on the boat to your left, partially obscured by some bushes.

Boritesia i znaydete usi zamochky...
Неймовірна робота, я поважаю таку наполегливість у справі, яка навіть не надасть жодної ачівки. Це просто любов.
