Each character can use a specific type of weapon, but there are many weapons out there with many different stats and abilities. Use various Components to level up the weapon, then transform it into a new weapon by using a Catalyst. All weapons will end up as an Ultimate Weapon in their third form.

To get to the Ultimate Weapon, you must level up from the base weapon to the second weapon, then use a Trapezohedron to get the third (Ultimate) weapon. Ultimate Weapons will have stats similar to the two previous weapons, and the abilities from the previous weapon will carry over to the Ultimate Weapon.

what should i do , between upgrade all the weapon for all characters or i have choose one of them to upgrade it ?

@Izaya Orihara Well, depending on where you are in the game, there are 3 choices. One is to buy it from the shop. Another is to dismantle an Ultimate Weapon (Some weapons need Trapezohedron to get to Ultimate btw). And last, but not least, is turtle killing (Adamantoise farming). If you have a strong enough team, or one that's just gotten to Eden, it doesn't matter. All you need is Vanille as captain, her Eidolon, and Death from her Saboteur discipline. At the start of the fight, summon Hecatoncheir to disable the Adamantoise from attacking you because both of its legs go down. After that, you spam Death until the Adamantoise either dies, or gets up and kills you. Having Sazh or Hope cast Haste is a bonus, but still unnecessary since it takes only one Death to kill it. Killing one gives you a Trapezohedron as a rare drop, so having a leveled up catalog can increase your chances of getting it. It also gives you 40k CP, which isn't too bad if you need to grind for post-game.

@He perdido mi mOjo! in this video this is still too much expensive for me :P but i just wanna know that Trapezohedron can drop or find from boxes/tresures or something without using GIL. :P

@Izaya Orihara, The best is upgrade weapon to ultimate form and dismantle. You get 2 or 3 trapezohedron.

@He perdido mi mOjo! Great guide to follow, thanks! I am new to gaming in general, do you recommend I find 1 weapon per character and level it up, or level up multiple weapons?

Also, what is the point of stagger lock? Is it to lower the timer on the technical point? And what do you guys think is the best ability for all the characters? I'm thinking quick stagger for lightening. Although for the other characters, I am not aware of many of the effects on the later weapons such as paper tiger, stifled magic, ally KO: power surge, etc.
