A. Introduction
In this guide, I will show you how to install Project MER for your dedicated server, as well as how to get "schematics". This guide will contain 3 parts. In the first part, we're going to set up the dedicated server. In the second we're going to install project MER and set it up. And in the third we're going to install a schematic for the server.
B. Dedicated Server Setup
Step
Description
1
Start the SCP: Secret Laboratory Dedicated Server [steamdb.info] app that comes pre-installed with SCP: Secret Laboratory.
2
This is going to open up the command prompt. Type "yes" and press "enter".
3
After that, some green text is going to appear. Press "enter".
4
After that, some white text is going to appear. Type "keep" and press "enter".
[/tr]
5
After that, some white text is going to appear. Type "this" and press "enter".
6
The server will automaticly start, you need to wait until it says "recived first heartbeat". You can also ignore the IPv4 message and the 1507 message. They are NOT important.
7
Close the command prompt.
C. Plugin Installation
Step
Description
1
Press "window" + "r", and type in "%appdata%" and press "OK".
2
Navigate to
User\AppData\Roaming\SCP Secret Laboratory
Example:

3
Go into the "LabAPI" folder ➞ then "plugins" ➞ and then "your port" (in this case its "7777").
4
Now you need to download the newest version of Project MER in the Discord Server[discord.com] (#testing-releases).
5
Download the ".dll" file, and put it into your "port folder".
6
You also need the "ZeroHarmony file", you can download it via the first link this this youtube videos description.
7
Download the ZIP-file and extract it.
8
Go into the "net48" folder and copy the dll file.
9
Go back to the LabAPI folder ➞ then dependencies ➞ then your port and paste it in.
10
Now launch the "SCP: Secret Laboratory Dedicated Server" app.
10.1
It should say that LabAPI loaded Project MER.
11
Go into your LabAPI configs and open "permissions.yml".
11.1
Copy the text that's already in there and rename the "defaualt" to "owner". Your .yml file should now look like this:
11.2
Then add "-.*" like this:
11.3
Don't forget to save it!
12
Now go back to your SCP Secret Laboratory folder and open config ➞ then "7777" ➞ then the "remote admin text file".
13
Now paste your steamid64 infront of "owner", like this:
13.1
Don't forget to save it!
14
Go into your console (SCP: Secret Laboratory Dedicated Server app) and type "sr" to restart your server.

D. Schematic Installation

Now start SCP: Secret Laboratory, go into servers and open "direct connect" and type in "localhost" (WITHOUT SPACES!!!).

You now have owner permission and can do whatever you want.

Type in "mp list" for enlist.
17
To add schematics go to your LabAPI folder and open config, then go to "Project MER" and then "schematics" and paste in your schematic of choice.

@LAIK if the console says something like this: [2025-10-23 18:33:11.573 +02:00] [ERROR] [LabApi] [PERMISSIONS_PROVIDER] Failed to load permissions from file /home/container/.config/SCP Secret Laboratory/LabAPI/configs/permissions.yml.
[2025-10-23 18:33:11.583 +02:00] [ERROR] [LabApi] YamlDotNet.Core.YamlException: (Line: 5, Col: 19, Idx: 75) - (Line: 5, Col: 19, Idx: 75): No node deserializer was able to deserialize the node into type LabApi.Features.Permissions.Providers.PermissionGroup, LabApi, Version=1.1.2.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null
you should try making 2 spaces before the -.* that could be the problem
