The guide here is easy can you can get a non-dedicated server up in less than 3 minutes. If you don't know how to access your router settings go into CMD and type in [ipconfig] and then type in your default gateway into your internet browser.
Typically my port-forwarding settings are in Advanced under WAN settings however yours might be different but you will be able to port forward unless you have restriction settings or your ISP has blocked you.
If that's the case you can manually set up a Source Server on older versions of Half Life 2 on Source Engine versions that support Multiplayer.
Like I said don't use Hamachi or any Internet to LAN applications as those are for very specific use cases and not for gaming servers; It WILL limit your game.
