To create a Fireplace, you’ll need the following materials:

Step 1: Gather Bark (you can also use Paper, Rags, or a Bandage as kindling)
Approach a tree with a knife or any sharp tool equipped, and use it to collect Bark.



Step 2: Gather Sticks or Firewood
You can obtain Long Sticks or Firewood by cutting bushes or trees.


After getting a Long Stick, take it into your hands and split it into Short Sticks.


Step 3: Craft the Fireplace
Combine Bark with a Short Stick (or any of the alternative materials listed above) to craft a Fireplace Kit.



Step 4: Place the Fireplace
Put the Fireplace on the ground where you want to build it.



Step 5: Light the Fire
To ignite the fire, you’ll need one of the following items:

• Matches
  
• Road Flare
  
• Lighter
  
• Hand Drill Kit

Step 6: Craft a Hand Drill Kit (optional)

If you don’t have any of the other tools, you can make a Hand Drill Kit using:

• 1 Short Stick
  
• 1 Bark

Approach the Fireplace with your Hand Drill Kit (or any fire-starting tool) in your hands and begin lighting the fire.

Tip: Make sure the Fireplace and its materials are dry before trying to light it — wet materials won’t catch fire.

In DayZ, never let your guard down. When you make a Fireplace, the light and smoke can be seen from far away — and that means someone might be coming for you.



Tip: Always build your fire in hidden or hard-to-see locations — deep in the forest, behind rocks.

Avoid lighting fires in open areas or near roads unless absolutely necessary.
Survival isn’t just about food and warmth — it’s about staying unseen.
