If they are, the issue might be the text translation you're using. The "dat_us" folder specifically holds all the data for the English text, just as there's a specific folde "dat" for Japanese. Maybe your text translation program creates a third folder (e.g. "dat_fr") so it's using a folder that isn't modded.
Check "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Trails of Cold Steel\data\scripts\scena"
There should only be 2 files there: "dat" and "dat_us" If there's a third folder, your version of the game might be using that. You could copy-paste the files into that third folder, but that would mean you change the language of all the dialogue within those maps.
Couple of things:
- I built the mod on the steam deck so there are a bunch of things related to proton and wine that you won't need if you are building on windows.
- I used the current release of SenPatcher (v1.3) to build the mod, not sure about the eArmada8's tool that you mentioned earlier.
- When I built the mod, only one file was generated. When you posted your build, there was an additional order file as well as an audio fix p3a file which I am not sure why they exist since I think the audio fix mod is generated by senpatcher as part of the patching process
- I have not tried your latest version, will try this out later tonight and check
I can't work out any possible reason why it doesn't work. I followed the instructions.
