Maximus183's Wrath of Sparta Campaign Overhaul (Feat. over 12 brand new units and other changes)

คำอธิบาย
Hi-dee-ho people. Been playing a lot of CA's latest campaign (Wrath of Sparta) and I'm digging it. I felt like something was missing with the unit roster though, so I cooked this little unit pack up. The vast majority of Hellenic melee units are fighting hoplite style with a spear and shield, so I made these units to add some variety to the roster.

So far the units are:

Light Swordsmen: An unarmored, light sword unit using both javelins and swords, they're mostly good for fighting light infantry or holding medium (maybe heavy) infantry in place until they can be reinforced, so they're not a god unit by any means. If you've played DeI, they're essentially what the greek light sword unit is there.

Skirmish Hippeus: A light skirmish cavalry unit. Basically your straightforward javelin cavalry. Use them for chasing down skirmishers, retreaters, or harrassing enemy phalanxes from the flanks/back.

Peltasts: A late game unit only obtainable once you've researched peltast training. They're a high mid-tier unit that serve to replace your levy/helot javelinmen later on in your campaign and should also be able to survive a melee with decent units for long enough time to be reinforced, unlike their levy counterparts.

Mercenary Illyrian Pirates (Mercenary unit available to all factions): Fierce medium infantry, they form a capable force who can perform most tasks on the battlefield, however they are lightly armoured and irregular, so don't depend on them too much. As pirates, they have access to proper, combat-able, transport ships, so they can also function as a minor escort force for smaller armies.

Mercenary Thessalian Cavalry (Mercenary unit available to all factions): The Thessalians produced some of the best horsemen in Greece during this time period, so here they are. They're a heavy shock cavalry unit recruiteable as mercenaries in most of mainland Greece and Macedonia.

Athenian Marines (Replaces generic Marines for Athenai): Athenai had the most powerful fleet in Greece in Classical antiquity, and this unit is a testament to that. They're armored and equipped with sword and shield and javelin.

Athenian Assault Marines (Replaces generic Armoured Marines for Athenai): Armed and armoured with the best equipment available, this unit can handle pretty much anything that comes its way.

Thespian Hoplites (Boiotian League only): Hoplites from the Boiotian Polis of Thespiae, they're some of the most distinguishable troops in the land. (Capped to 4)

Korinthian Marines (Replaces generic Marines for Korinthos): The Athenians were not the only ones with skilled warriors at sea. Korinthos commanded one of the most powerful fleets in the western Greek seas, kept under control by men like these.

Armoured Korinthian Marines (Replaces generic Armoured marines for Korinthos): The best from every Korinthian fleet banded together into veteran, and certainly capable, marine hoplites.

Heavy Mercenary Thracian Peltasts (Mercenary unit available to all factions): Thracian peltasts are quick and agile fighters, the very embodiment of a skirmisher. These particular Thracians have offered their skills to any commander willing to pay for it. This has afforded them better equipment than most of their homeland counterparts.

Messenian Hoplites (Athenai only): The hoplites of the Greek polis of Messenia played a vital role in the Peloponnesian War, fighting alongside Athenian forces in the phalanx, or as bodyguards of the Athenian leadership in battle.

Boetian Hoplites (Boiotian League only): Light hoplites from Boetia, they can form a steady phalanx but are relatively easily overcome by heavier enemy forces.

Korinthian Hoplites (Korinthos only): The Polis Korinthos' own elite hoplites, from the top of the society and the cream of the military. These hoplites are as good as they come outside Sparta.

Mass credit to Aquizar for creating these awesome unit cards for all the new units! Thanks a bunch!

And a huge thank you to Avetis for letting me use some linothoraxes, clothing and a new boetian helmet from CIU. Thank you! If you don't know about CIU, check it out! It's got some great stuff in it.

If you find any bugs, issues with balancing or recruitability etc etc, then just leave a comment and I'll look into it as soon as I can.

Hope you enjoy it! If you like it leave a comment or a like or send me a pic of how happy it made you, whatever you feel like!

Peace out.

Can this be added in the middle of a campaign? Or do I need to start fresh?

could you make a separate mini mod where the spartans only wear corinthians? i'd do it myself but i have very little modding experience. BTW this is one of the best sparta mods ive seen i love their linothoraxes

You should make the new marines that you added buildable in fleets and not just armies

Could you make this mod compatible with a mod that unlocks all factions for WoS? would be great :D
