7 years after game released, DF2 finally have main story...
But other than the new "main story" missions, few extra unrelated new missions also added into game. To avoid future confusion, I list new added (unrelated to main story) missions here.
Chapter 1
  • Kyle @Dallbow Police Department, B1
    Asking player put his (infected) friend out of misery, reward player a special CZ-83
  • Douglas @Dallbow Police Department, DDA
    Asking player kill Choir in the new lv1 raid building (Dailey Residence)
    Reward player a BP (blue print) of many powerful herbs medicines
    Require read the BP to loot said herbs ingredient!
    All the herbs can be found in the outskirt / woods, or building inside / near the woods
#Chapter 1
Beginning
You were heavily injured & lost all your memory. But luckily someone saved you and bring you to Dallbow Police Department. Finally recovered, time to retrieve your lost memory...!
  • Talking to the doc, used the bandage she gave you to removed the old bandage debuff
    \_Head to building hall for Chief Banks, the outpost leader.
    Optional
  • At B1 of Dallbow Police Department. A worried police officer Kyle is there, help him put his friend out of misery. (Door in front of your old room)
  • Go up stair, Douglas, a herb expert is there, asking you kill the Choir inside the Daily Residence (The lv1 red building on map). (its blue print unlock many powerful herbs medicine)
  • Complete Chief Banks' newbie Tutorial Missions
    \_ Kill 5 infected outside
    \_ Loot 5 items outside
    \_ Sell one thing on Trader
    \_ Scrap one thing on Trader
    \_ Buy a "Redfield Sitori" from Trader
    \_ Equip said "Redfield Sitori", then talk to Chief Banks
    \_ Go kill any mutant outside
    \_ Complete any 3 missions from other NPC
    You can start & submit most missions on noticeboard without talking to the NPC
    Complete all his mission reward player a lv5 melee unique "Grave Digger"
Now you finally complete the tutorial.

Chief Banks said your rescuer often hang out at "Copper Martini", the journey begin...

You arrived Copper Martini, the owner William Naylor is inside the office.
But he doesn't like you at all. Help his crew to gain his trust.

A) Complete 5 missions of Copper Martini's NPC
  • Daughter (Sarah Naylor)
    \_ Kill 3 Mutants
    \_ Complete 1 PZ (purple zone, challenge), reward "Copper Trousers"
  • Guard
    \_ Bring him a "Makeshift Bandolier" (require looted "Council's Memo" blue print to unlock)
    \_ Bring him "Gold Ring" from building next to Copper Martini, reward "Bullfrog"
  • Drunk Man (Lt. Clark)
    \_ Bring him a "Whisky"
    \_ Killed 10 children infected, reward "Copper Shoes"
  • Scout Mckinley
    \_ Loot 30 items in "Apartment" building
    *Building name with: Apartment, Complex, Villa, Village, Units
    \_ Retrieved package for him, reward "Rat"
    Hint:The first square at bot left is X0Y0
  • Cook (Jeffery Kilroy)
    \_ Loot "Spices" from restaurant and bring it to him
    \_ Bring random food to him for some 5.56 mm, 20 gauge ammo. Reset Daily

B) Looking for your rescuer
Now the owner finally tell you where was Harry Hills' (your rescuer) last visiting location.
  • Visit Ransacked Shop @Albandale Park
    \_ Check the backpack, read the notes
  • Visit Mason Residence @Albandale PArk
    \_One door is blocked, anyway to enter?
    Hint:Equip something you found in this house
    \_Kill the invisible mutant, Hysteric!
    \_Back to Copper Martini, Talk to Harry
    \_Talk to William Naylor (owner) as well for extra reward
Well, Harry doesn't know your past either, butwhen he found you, a burnt photo was with you!
Now photo at his home Dawnhill Commons Room 202, grab the photo yourself!

Going to scrap them very quickly
\_ Dawnhill Commons (lv15)
Dawnhill Commons supposed to be a survivor outpost, but now full of zombie!
Where are the survivors?
  • Check 2F's Double door, room 202 supposed to be there.
    \_It is heavily blocked, can't unblocked without help
    \_Again, where are the survivors?
Turn out they all hide at 5F!!
  • Ask Chief Terrance for help, but he said it is too dangerous, unless outside is safer...
    \_What he actually mean is: Help other survivors at 5F first

Complete any 4 missions to progress the story
  • A) Concerned Survivor: Visit storage room, bring supply box to her.
    Reward "Superior Enhancer BP"
    \_hint:Check the painting at 2F (need "High" texture solution in setting to see hint)
  • B) Grieving Old Man: Kill the Finger for him, reward "Avalanche"
    \_That finger room is locked, until you accept the quest, at 1F
    \_Check B' on map after complete this mission
  • C) Grandma Ruby: Find her daughter! reward "Good Will"
    \_After found her, kill everything on its way back to 5F, then talk to her again
    \_After completed, kid will gift player something
  • D) Ninja Girl: Follow her around in Dawnhill Commons, help her investigating how this outpost fall! reward "Shadowstrike"
    \_Carefully read what she said! else you may lost her trace!
    \_Also mission won't progress if there are enemy inside said room
  • E) Pink dude: Get their clothes back, from 2F. reward "Raging Bullseye"
    \_After this whole "Dawnhill Commons" arc complete, talk to him again for his side mission
    E') <-Optional
    \_Visit / Help his brother Rivera @Dawnhill outskirt (woods), a long & painful looting hell mission
    \_Require player loot 2 mission item (plank & nails) for his brother (~300-800 loot spot depend on finding crafting chance), after few more missions from Rivera, will reward "Crude Armour Repair Kit BP", and Pink dude will reward player an "Elite Old Double Rifle"
  • F) Easter egg for player who complete every missions! (E' included)

After some hard work, Chief Terrance will help you removed 2F double door's barrier...
  • 2LSD is room 202, time to get the photo!
    \_Check Harry Hills' locked box again, took his unique pistol "The Second Amendment"
  • Few more thing worth investigating in this area
    \_Traitor's dead body
    \_SDA, 2LSD, a sigil & "Short Shredder" from the dead body
  • Talk to Chief Terrance for one last time, he want to report this incident to Chief Banks@Dallbow Police Department
    \_Send this letter to Chief Banks will start another side mission chain (optional)

  • Chief Banks lost contact with his friend, ask player take a visit
    \_No adult home, loot "Deliah's Message" from shelf
    \_Visit "Health Haven Private Clinic", found their parents
    \_Back to "Larsen Residence", try bring kid back to Dallbow Police Department
    Reward "Reinforced Vest"
Hint: One NPC in "Council HQ" may know the safe code (require this mission to trigger)

B) Palehaven's Bureau of Investigation
Need lock-picking for this mission building's secret room
  • Chief Banks finally want to do some background check on his people
    \_Visit Palehaven's Bureau of Investigation @Richbow Hunt
    \_Keep following mysterious person's message to get the old file, back to Chief Banks
    Reward "Buyout Escape"
Optional
4 locked door in this mission building. Door named with "simple" mean that door can be lock-picked (Stats from equipment or skill)
2F's locked room have a key allow player access to the puzzle room at 3F
One room with a Finger have a puzzle hint book
If you did the puzzle right, it unlocked the secret room in 2F double door

All lock-picked room have an elite item (HK-5, Sledge Hammer, M1 Garand, SPSA-12)
If you failed lock-picking the door, pause mission, wait next world reset

  • The burnt photo give you clue, a name, at Haverbrook
    \_Asking NPC of Haverbrook Memorial Hospital, someone gotta know her
    \_But NPC said she leaved, went to "Sapphire Serenity" @Richbow Hunt
This place suck

Stalker after you at every hall, but it won't notice you if you sneak.
Visit / loot mission marked room is enough, you don't have to clean all room!
One mission marked room with relax BGM, is safe room. have meds inside

If you did visit & loot all mission marked room, then you should have:
  • 2 keys, for two locked rooms at 1F a) 3F, SDA; b) 4F, TR, TR LSD
    \_ which gives "VIP Lounge Memo", plus generator room for volt adjusting
  • All the switch location
    2F: a) DDA, LSD; b) DDA, Last RSD
    3F: a) RDD, 2LSD; b) A SDA
    4F: a)DDA, 2LSD; b) Last LSD
    5F: RSD
  • 2 Photos give extra hint
    \_ 2F photo noted: some switch are faked, and real switch disabled by 240 volt
Your goal now is unlocking 5th floor's VIP room.
Hint a) Set 240 volt & test all switch, remember the disabled one, 'cause they are real switch
Hint b) Read "VIP Lounge Memo" carefully, guess the switches order (220 volt)

Finally you access the VIP room!
This final area have:
  • One survived NPC (Ted), bring him paramedic bag, reward player exp
  • A room with 2 spiders, loot spot gives "Web Cutter"
  • Small room with a Finger, Elite Bulldog, and a sigil bleeds you
And finally, the woman on the burnt photo!

  • Interact with her body, trigger a Reaper fight!
    \_Kill the Reaper, check her body for clue
    \_You heard someone outside, after talk, meet him at Council HQ @Haverbrook


Optional:
  • 3F Secret Room
    Hint: If you did the fake/real switch test, you may unlock the secret room by accident.
    Reward:More sigil to interact, trashtalk lore book, a Cranberry Juice

The only clue you had is now gone, may work with the council for awhile.
Preparation
  • Meet the scout and scientist leader at 2F RSD
    \_They are impressed by how Stalker pissed on you
    \_Get the key, got to B1 LSD, kill the thing inside
    \_Bring the sample to the scientist at 1F RDD That room take extra effort to load
    \_She ask you bring her one XL-618 (can be loot in any Hospital), loot & submit
Now the scientist is busy, help other NPC in HQ to progress story
    Complete any of 2 for next step
  • LDD, LDD (Engineer)
    \_Bring letters to Jack @Greywood Star Hotel, then return to Engineer
    \_Loot 300 spots, reward "Combusting Lash"
  • LDD, RSD (Kind People)
    \_Help them find the escape girl @Haverbrook Memorial Hospiatl
    Have fun harassing innocent NPC
    \_Find the girl, and go after her (Check note from her backpack)
    \_Visit that house @Haverbrook outskirt, kill the spider. It drop "Keizer"
    \_Finish the scene
  • 2F (Radio Operator)
    \_Loot two yellow paint from shops (small building like restaurant, but white door)
    \_After that, she wants player looting a supply box from a dangerous place...
    Daily Reset Missions
  • B1, Bring Item mission (changed daily)
  • 2F, Help NPC (complete 20 missions)
*If player helped the NPC at "Sapphire Serenity", he will be in LDD, RDD, gift 3 Nerotonin-2
    Harry Hills' side mission (optional)
  • This missions need killing power, player have to fight 2 mutants at once often!
    \_At hall, bring him a M16 starting his side mission
    \_talk to him again later, he will head to "Health Private Clinic" (same as Chief Banks' mission)
    \_After arrived the building, will asked player go through the mid DDA
    Hint: Check every double door, 4 of the mutants drop the keys for 2F locked door
    \_Said locked room, have medical record of his daughter and "Deadly Silence"
    \_Give him the file, complete the mission
After complete some missions, talk to scientist @1F RDD again
  • She need less mutants outside for her research, go kill 60 mutants!
    \_Their new data shows that "Abandoned Mansion" at southwest, looking sus...

Be well prepare for this mission (lv40 inside)
  • Explore the whole mansion, find all mission marked room & locked door
    \_New player will encounter their first optic enemy at 3F, shoot eye! (drop "Black Queen")
    \_3 Puzzles in mansion (3F Painting puzzle, 2F Chessboard puzzle, 1F Switch puzzle)
    \_Once complete the painting puzzle, the rest 2 puzzles will not be an issue
    Hint: If you can count from one to three, then you can solve the painting puzzle
Optional
If player manage to open the secure box, an old friend will appear in switch puzzle room
  • Unlocked the boss room, kill, check eggs on wall
    \_Kill real boss, check eggs again, get key
    \_Back to scientist @Council's Temporary HQ RDD
    \_Scout at 2F RSD have clue?
(Optional) Reward

Disclaimer:
  • I DON'T RECOMMEND player complete chapter1 before lv60 (or even lv60+15)
    \_After completing J&S, Stalker will be gone forever, not even SM will summon him
    \_At lv45+, per Stalker escaped reward player up to 64K EXP (if 300% exp)!
Be well prepare, fight can last long
  • Talked to scout at 2F, player may start heading to the J S Industrial
    \_2F have a free paramedic bag
    \_Read the manual, then start the long boss fight!
    Interact with electric panel TWICE to start battle for real!
    Some player report that, kill infected entering the room speed up the countdown
  • After battle, explore RDD, investigate that special room, back to HQ
    \_Talk to the scientist leader at 2F RSD, chapter 1 completed
Now survivors finally realised this zombie outbreak is not a nature cause!

"White Rook" can open the secure chest @3F LDD for "Red Liquid"
But then damaged "White Rook" into "Cracked White Rook".

\_A) Use "Blue Gem" on statue will received "Ceremonial Sword"

If the NPC at Council HQ RDD didn't give you Larsen residence's safe code after the mission, make sure you have taken all other NPC's extra reward (Booze & elite sport armour @Dawnhill Commons, and Ted, NPC saved @Sapphire Serenity)

Can anyone tell me what the hint in the painting is for the Dawnhill Commons Concerned Survivor Quest because game crashes whenever I try high texture.

The solution to the mansion ignores one of the numbers which made me confused and get stuck for the longest time.
