How to play bloons monkey city flash after 'shutdown'
By Kevaca
BMC Flash went down unannounced on May 19th, 2025, Here is how to play it despite the shutdown via a private server
You will not be able to use your NK save data for this, as that is hosted by NK, on the ""under maintenance"" servers

This private server also enables BTD5 Challenges/Co-op, Bloons TD Battles, SAS3/4 Online & Countersnipe

Installation
Method 1 - Script - All Platforms
Install either FlashClient.bat (Windows) or FlashClient.sh (Mac/Linux)[github.com] and run it, you may receive a warning due to it being unsigned
You can now open the Archive again and play the games of your choice on Glennm's working private server, instead of NK's disabled servers

Method 2 - Manual App.asar Replacement - All Platforms
If Method 1 does not work, this is the recommended method
Step 1 - Locate Installation
Steam - With game open in library, press settings gear > Manage... > Browse Local FIles
Navigate to resources folder inside

Natural Paths if you use the Standalone Version / Mac/Linux Steam Paths
Standalone Windows (Current User) | "%LOCALAPPDATA%\Programs\Ninja Kiwi Archive\resources"

Standalone Windows (All Users) | "%PROGRAMFILES%\Ninja Kiwi\Ninja Kiwi Archive\resources"

Mac Steam | "$HOME/Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps/common/Ninja Kiwi Archive/resources"

Mac Standalone | "/Applications/Ninja Kiwi Archive"*".app/Contents/Resources"

Linux Steam | "$HOME/.steam/steam/steamapps/common/Ninja Kiwi Archive/resources"

Linux Steam 2 | "$HOME/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/Ninja Kiwi Archive/resources"

Linux Proton | "$HOME/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/1275350/pfx/drive_c/Program Files (x86)/Steam/steamapps/common/Ninja Kiwi Archive/resources"

Step 2 - Backup Original app.asar (If you wish to go back to the original NK Archive easier)
Example

Step 3 - Replace app.asar with one from the one located in app.zip here[github.com]

Method 3 - Powershell Install - All Platforms
Step 1: Download FlashClient.ps1 from the releases page[github.com]

open PowerShell[learn.microsoft.com] (or PowerShell ISE[learn.microsoft.com])

Enable PowerShell execution
Set-ExecutionPolicy Unrestricted -Force
(If you block powershell setting its own Execution Policy, you will need to disable it to use this method)

On the prompt, change to the directory where you downloaded the files:
cd c:\Users\NAME_HERE\Downloads

Next, to run the script, enter in the following:
.\FlashClient.ps1
