About the script & PSA
Hey there people!

I love roguelike games and I love Nightreign as well. Roguelike games are all about randomisation: You get into a game, play on a random map and do a bunch of stuff. In Nightreign the map is also random, but there are some fix point of interests on the map.

However for Nightreign there are currently a total of 320 seeds, so you'll know what bosses there are on the map, what events can occur and also if you really want to check the castle's basement for that pesky Bell Bearing Hunter or not.

By using this script you can easily determine what seed you have and make an optimal route.

EXTREMELY IMPORTANT:
Like thefifthmatt has said on his site, this is mainly for people who want to spoil the surprise as in what map seed they have, or people who'd like to speedrun.

Please don't spoil other's games because of this. Thank you!
The script itself
The script is made in Google Appscript and you can access it here:

Basically you run the script in your browser and then start the game (or you can open it after the game has started, it doesn't matter).

Once you've selected your Nightlord and you get in-game, you quickly open your map and look where churches and sorcerer's rises are (preferably before getting on the ground)

Then in the script all you have to do is left click to place a church on an orange dot or right click to place a sorcerer's rise, or if there is no church or rise at a place at all, you middle click on it and it will place a "?", telling it there's ANYTHING OTHER than a church / rise there.

If done correctly, the script will display your map seed, which you can click to enlarge it (and it also has some small details next to the map, so you can quickly see what bosses will be on each night and what you can find in the castle).

If by any chance you've made a mistake you can click the reset button above the map, or if you play another round just select another Nightlord (or if it's the same, then just hit the reset button) and you can start over with the seed recogniser.

I don't know how much you've played the game, but every boss has a name which is selectable on the expedition menu (like Darkdrift Knight), but when you are face-to-face with the boss, then their real name will be revealed, in this case it will be "Fulghor".
If you look at the app's menu and the expeditions menu ingame, you can deduce that the leftmost option in the app is the same as it's in the top of the expeditions. This means that even if you don't know the name of a Nightlord, only it's title, you can still choose who you are fighting against.

With that said I've updated the app, so it shows the name and the title of the Nightlord.

On the "Choose your Nightlord" I don't see Darkdrift Knight, which is who we are working on currently. In fact, I don't see any of the bosses that I can choose on your list. Is this some form of gatekeeping?

Thanks for the feedback! Didn't think there would be a seed like this, so thanks for reporting it!

What I did as a fix is this:
If you left click, you place a church.
If you right click, you place a rise.
If you middle click, you place a "?" there, which means it could be ANYTHING OTHER than a church / rise.

Let me know if this works or not (and this works with other seeds as well, not just this). So for example you can already tell it that "There is no church and rise here", and it will filter it that way as well.

Is there anything you can do when there's more than one map pattern based on your inputs, but no more churches or rises to place? I was doing Maris and got map pattern #138, where there's 3 churches (west middle, top north and middle beside bridge) and 1 rise (south lake), but after selecting these there were still 2 patterns left, but no more churches or rises anywhere.

I checked map pattern #135 and it has the same church layout as the one described above, but an extra sorcerer's rise in the east, which seems to be the other pattern that got me stuck.

The spawn locations on these two seeds are different, so maybe you could work that into your script? Thanks for your work. :er_heart:

The game has been updated, don't know if there are new map seeds or not, so if you notice anything interesting please let me know!

Thanks, most of the work is made by thefifthmatt, I just made a script that makes it easier for everyone to search for the map seed.
I'm planning on adding new features and maybe create a better UI, but the latter is not on my priority list. Also I don't want to write what features I'm planning because if I can't make them, then I don't want to disappoint people. In the meantime you can use this and you may suggest features as well (hopefully I can do them)
