About this guide (please read, it's short!)
This is not a guide that spells everything out and has pictures and diagrams. The entire purpose of the last item is to be the end reward for finding all the easter eggs. There's no achievement tied to it and you don't get any additional story or dialogue.

In the spirit of this part of the game, this will either give you hints or make it very easy to find the eggs yourself instead of telling you exactly what everything is and showing you exactly where and how to click. If I feel an egg is particularly difficult or easy to find, more or less information will be given accordingly.

Even if you intend to skip 'hints' and go to 'where are they,' I would still read the hint section for some helpful knowledge about the eggs and finding them.

Where it all began.
The Great Easter Egg hunt started when someone pointed out the empty cubby in the hall. Even if you have 100% of the achievements, it remains empty! What could it be? Just empty space? Room for future DLC?

Well then! The hunt for secrets was on!

Hints
From here on out is spoiler territory!

In case you want to egg hunt on your own but want some hints, this section is for you.

General Hints
1. There are four easter eggs in total, though two of them have more than one part to them.
2. They are all related to older video games.
3. Each one has a visual clue. These clues tend to stand out from the room somehow.
4. Only the left mouse button is used.
5. Each method is a bit unique.
6. If you have successfully obtained an easter egg (or part of it), you will hear a sound, and it is the same sound for all eggs.

Easter Egg #1
I found this first, and consider it the easiest.
This is the only egg where the visual clue is not immediately next to the actual method of obtaining the egg. Once you find the clue (and it is pretty easy to find!), you will have to change floors to get it.

Easter Egg #2
The second egg I found. Much more difficult than #1.
The hint is not on the same screen as the method used, but they are next to each other. This one has the most parts- 9 of them in fact. Google will almost certainly be your friend once you figure out what you're doing. Every game involved is older, with the newest one being released in 2000 and the oldest being released in the 1970s. Most are from the 1990s.

Easter Egg #3
Third one I found. It is simultaneously super easy and rather tricky- as Mr. Fofiño said, once you see it you can't unsee it. This one was probably the actual hardest for me to figure out and took the longest, but it is extremely easy to actually do once you know what to do. This also ended up being my favorite method of getting the egg.

No screen changes for this one. This one REALLY stands out but the method of getting it is a bit more obscure. The hint was Super Mario Bros 3. If that doesn't help, go back and check out the third stage in the first world and see if that helps. This is the only egg that does not involve clicking things in the right order.

Easter Egg #4
My final egg. I consider this to be more difficult than #1, but easier than the other two. This one was a bit, shall we say, devilish.

The visual clue doesn't stand out as much and is quite easy to miss as there is about 30 seconds to a minute between it becoming briefly visible. From there, you'll want to think about exactly which version of the game it is and what's "missing" from its representation.

No, but seriously, where are they?
Really spoilery now!

Pwincess
This involves finding a series of up and down arrows and then where to input them. Neither one is in an apartment while still being inside the building, and there's really only one place that has little up and down arrows that look like buttons. Once you have your sequence, just click the up and down arrow buttons you've found in that order.

IX Cheat Codes
This one was pretty brutal. There's a book next to a keyboard. The keys on the board are clickable, allowing you to type in cheat codes. As the book says, there are nine in total, and every time you enter one correctly, you will hear the Easter Egg unlocked sound and something new will show up in that room.

The codes typically involve god mode or giving you resources, and three of them have a space. The games are: Doom, Duke Nukem 3D, Age of Empires (the first one), The Sims (also the first one), Quake, Colossal Cave Adventure, Starcraft, Warcraft II, and Heroes of Might and Magic 3. Heroes of Might and Magic 3 has a quite a few cheat codes, so to help you out, it's from one of the expansions and is one of the shorter codes (only has one word following the nwc, and it's not a long word).

None of the codes are generic like "god" or "kill" or "noclip." They're very identifiable as being from the game, and some of them are quite famous!

Getting to Those Cartridges Behind the Glass
There's really only two apartments that are related to gaming, and the last two eggs are in the same one. This egg requires some pretty specific knowledge of Super Mario Bros 3. Just like Mario holds down crouch on a specific rectangle to get behind the foreground to find hidden things, you'll need to hold down for about five seconds on a suspiciously conspicuous and similar rectangle. From there it's just investigating what you now have access to. There are two things to find here.

Super Turbo Akumafiño
This one is quite close to the previous one. The visual hint doesn't stand out very well as it's not differently colored or shaded and has no obvious buttons, but it is one of the only animated objects in the game (albeit it only happens every so often), and the screen is suspiciously detailed and accurate to the game. The artist really went out of their way to detail what's what and who's who. You need to get the secret character to show up! Five clicks in total, and this is pretty easy to google.

Tada!
Once you have completed all four easter eggs, all that's left is to return to the main hall and enjoy your fully completed shelves and shiny new trophy!

Happy hunting!

Devcats may believe the last two eggs are easier than first two, but honestly you need to play two specific games to recognize the references. And I don't know what they meant by "old gamers" in this case😂

Thank you very much for our headache finally gone and for this guide!

Update: fixed the typos

On the theme of 4 Easter eggs, it's about Re from the street fighter. But which combination should I press?
