If your game is crashing when starting a battle try the 2 solutions below.

Solution 1
----------------
Either plug in a mic or headphones into your mic slot on your computer. Plugging in a mic helped fix my crashing because I didn't have Stereo Mix from solution 2.

Solution 2
----------------
Step 1: Go to control panel
Step 2: Click on "Hardware and Sound"
Step 3: Click on "Sound"
Step 4: Click on the "Recording" tab of the popup window.
Step 5: Right Click in the recording section and check the box "Show Disabled Devices"
Step 6: A device called stereo mix should pop up. Right click it and check the box that says "Enable."
Step 7: Close out all windows and launch the game!

The gamespy servers are officially shut down.

Option 1

You can go here and download a new exe to get servers to show up again: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/tvjg8rgyg2lxuhi/AADai1jcyHPN1WH0CLLFIitBa/BattlefrontII_client_english_US.exe?dl=0

Once you download the new exe rename it BattlefrontII

Then go to C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\Star Wars Battlefront II\GameData
and replace the BattlefrontII exe that is in there. The one you downloaded will be smaller in size if you get confused which is which.

Now start up the game and go to the multiplayer tab. Once there either create a username and password for Gamespy (I don't think it actually registers, but the game thinks it does) or you can try logging in if you already have a Gamespy account. Once you are able to login a server list should show up.

Option 2

I haven't tried it myself, but I have heard from other users that it has more players than option 1. Though you have to download and use a seperate program. I will have a link to it below if you are interested in checking it out.
