Introduction
Summoner Expansion is a mod focused on expanding the gameplay variation of the summoner class by adding new weapons, armor, trinkets, potions, banners, mounts and more.
Crafting Stations

Most of the items of this mod are crafted at these 2 stations:

Summoning Table
Crafted at workstation - 35 logs, 15 clay, 5 health potions;
This station is used to craft weapons, armors, trinkets, mounts, etc;
It can be upgraded up to 3 times using demonic bars, tungsten bars and upgrade shards, unlocking more items each tier.

Summoning Bookshelf
Crafted at carpenter bench - 40 logs, 1 crafting guide, 5 books;
This station is used to craft summoner books;
All books are secondary weapons, which means they don't consume minion slots but each book have it's own minion cap, that can be increased by increasing it's tier.
Summon Weapons

All weapons of this mod deals summon damage and have a minion summoning mechanic.
These weapons summons minions to fight for you at the cost of minion slots:

Pre-Boss Tier
  • Enchanted Brain On A Stick - An upgraded brain on a stick that now summons both melee and ranged zombies and the melee zombies now inflict a debuff that reduces armor by 10
  • Grizzly Bear Head - A strong minion that takes 2 slots and inflicts bleeding, which deals poison damage over time and reduces their damage by 20%
  • Polar Head - A strong minion that takes 2 slots and slows enemies by 1% each attack, stacking up to 25%
  • Royal Hive - This minion will buff the player on hit increasing health regen during combat by 0.05% and spawn bees every 10 hits, these smaller bees will slow enemies by 10% on hit
  • Red Spider Staff - An upgraded spider staff that now poisons on hit and while wearing the red spider set, this minion will apply another debuff increases the poison damage from all sources by 100%, including from itself
  • Cactus Staff - The projectiles shot from this minion have a random piercing value that vary between 0 to 4, making it possible to hit up to 5 targets in a single shot
Pre-Captain Tier
  • Vampire Wings - A ranged minions that shoots homing projectiles that can bounce walls and while wearing the bloodplate set the projectiles shot deals 30% more damage and travels faster
  • Runebone Staff - Summons melee minions with 10% chance to summon a ranged minion instead, the chance is increased by upgrading the weapon
  • Gold Pitchfork - A melee minion that takes 2 slots and have 10% to drop wheat and 2% chance to spawn a chicken or pig on hit, making it a source of food that gets more reliable with more minions
  • Ice Wizard Staff - Shot projectiles from this minion causes 30% slow, deals frost damage over time and increases frost damage from all sources by 100%, while wearing the frost set projectiles will travel faster and does 20% more damage
Pre-Incursion Tier
  • Sand Worm Staff - The sand worm attacks in the same pattern as the ruby dragon and also takes 2 minion slots
  • Dryad Essence - The summoned ghoul have a very low movement speed but compensate with it's trail that does 50% of it's damage and have it's own minion cap that increases by upgrading
Endgame Tier
  • Ruby Shards - This golem shoots a projectile that gets stuck on foes but don't have any special effect but shoots faster than others ranged golems
  • Emerald Shards - This golem shoots a laser that have 1000 pierce and bounce walls, which makes it the best golem to deal with crowds and worms but it have the slowest attack speed
  • Amethyst Shards - This golem inflicts the crystallize debuff, which causes a big hit based on your crit chance and crit damage when you reach max stacks and synergies with the amethyst sword, but if you want to inflict the debuff with only minions you will need at least 2 golems to reach max stacks to proc the debuff
  • Sapphire Shards - This golem needs to be used alongside a weapon that generates life essence since it won't generate on it's own, when you have any life essence the next time this golem hits a foe an essence will be consumed and a Sapphire glyph will spawn at your location
  • Topaz Shards - This golem shoots a projectile that can bounce 20 times and have 5 pierce, making it stronger on smaller places
Secondary Weapons
These summoning weapons do not use any summon slots, so they can be used together with another summon weapon to provide additional damage. All secondary weapons have a limit on how many minions you can have and can be increseased by upgrading to higher tiers

Pre-Boss Tier
  • Magic Wood Tools - Each time it hits foes, you get a stack of magic wood buff which gives +1 mining range and 10% mining speed, the max amount of stacks is increased by upgrading this weapon and can reach 8 stacks at tier 5 giving +8 range and 80% mining speed
  • Explosive Snowball - If it hits foes 5 times in a short time it will explode dealing 2x it's damage and damaging everything in it's radius including players, while wearing the frost set the explosion the damage is increased to 3x and the explosion area is bigger
  • Magma Book - When it hits a foe that is affected by any burn debuffs the duration of the burn will be extended to 60 hours, including the burn effects from trinkets, armor sets and walking on lava
Pre-Captain Tier
  • Bee Book - This weapon can't increase it's minion limit by upgrading, minions can go through walls and inflict the same debuff as the bees summoned by queen bees which gives a 10% slow to foes
  • Frozen Book - Projectiles shot by these minions causes frost damage over time and slows by 30%, each minion disappear after throwing 10 javelins, while wearing the frost set each javelin thrown have 50% to not count toward the 10 throws limits
  • Runic Book - Minion hits provides a stack of Runic Shield which increases armor by 2 for each stack up to 24 armor at max stacks, these minions have a health bar of 100 on the lowest difficult and goes up to 300 at brutal difficult and works like the ruby shields, protecting from projefctiles that don't pierce
Sentry Weapons
These weapons works like normal minion weapons but these minions don't move and aren't affected by the summon speed stat

Pre-Incursion Tier
  • Caveglow Staff - The first dps sentry, it glows and shoots projectiles that have 1 pierce and 1 bounce with a slight homing
Endgame Tier
  • Vampire Coffin - This sentry shoots the same projectile as the vampire minions but every 10 shots a crypt bat will be summoned, which flies toward foes 20% of the coffin damage, while wearing the bloodplate set the bats will have 100% damage and projectiles shot deals 20% more damage and travel faster

Secondary Sentry Weapons
Same as the secondary weapons but with stationary minions:
Pre-Boss Tier
  • Mushroom Book - This slows nearby foes by 20% and grants the player a buff that increases max health by 5 on kill up to 50 health and decreases over time, it also summons a minion over time don't take minion slots and have a health bar of 350-550 depending on the difficult
Support Weapons
Support weapons summons minions that have supporting abilities that can be helpful to all classes

Light Weapons
These weapons summons minions meant to be used during night or inside caves because they provide light but their damage is lower than others minions of the same tier. All light minions can have their light radius increased by using the copper miner set:
  • Magic Copper Lamp - besides being craftable this lamp have 2% chance to spawn inside chests from caves during world creation, this is the weakest of the light minions, with the smallest light radius and damage
  • Magic Gold Double Lamp - With a bigger light radius this lamp also inflict a burn debuff dealing 5 flat fire damage
  • Magic Tungsten Lamp - With an even bigger light radius this lamp inflict a stronger burn debuff 10 flat fire damage
  • Magic Dungeon Candelabra - It's debuff does 6 flat fire damage but only during night
  • Magic Spider Castle Candelabra - During the day it's debuff does 8 flat fire damage and slows by 10% and during night it does 16 flat fire damage and slows by 30%
Melee Weapons
These weapons deals summon damage to foes and have some form of minion summoning that don't take minion slots, they use enchanting scrolls of melee weapons:
Pre-Boss Tier
  • Worm Bucket - Throws a homing boomerang that have 10% chance to summon one out of 5 different flying fishes that attack foes
Pre-Captain Tier
  • Goblin Sword - Gains stacks on hit and when you reach max stacks you can right click to consume all stacks and summon 3 minions, you shouldn't use this weapon's right click in narrow spaces because the goblins may get stuck inside walls when summoned
Pre-Incursion Tier
  • Fishian Spear - Gains stacks on hit and at max stacks consumes all stacks at the next attack to summon a minion
  • Horror Sword - Have a very slow attack speed but each hit gives a stacking buff that increases it's speed and at max stacks all stacks are consumed to summon a minion
  • Horror Scythe - It have 3 charge levels, the first only does damage, the second summons a wolf and the thrid and final one summons a bull, the bull deals 80% of the weapon's damage and wolfs deals 20% damage, you can have up to 3 wolfs but only 1 bull
  • Horror Glaive - Gains stacks on hit and at max stacks you can right click to summon a sentry, you can have up to 5 sentries and they last 100 seconds each
Ranged Weapons
These weapons uses enchanting scrolls of ranged weapons and requipe ammo:
Pre-Incursion Tier
  • Mosquito Bow - Shoots arrows to the sky and then they land at the mouse location leaving a pool that damages foes, you can't attack through wall and there is a limit on how far the arrow can land. After hitting foes 20 times a mosquito that hunts foes causing a debuff that reduces armor by 10%
Magic Weapons
These weapons uses enchanting scrolls for magic weapons

Pre-Boss Tier
  • Sunflower Staff - Shoots a projectile and you can right click to summon a sentry that buffs nearby players with health regen, which get stronger when upgrading
  • Firemone Staff - Shoots a projectile and you can right click to summon a sentry that buffs nearby players with armor penetration and after upgrading projectile velocity
  • Ice Blossom Staff - Shoots a projectile and you can right click to summon a sentry that buffs nearby players with armor and after upgrading resilience
Armors


All armors of this mod are fully focused on the summoner class, increasing your summon stats and each armor set gives a special effect.

Minions summoned from armor sets have their damage and movement speed increased by the summon damage amd siummon speed stats.

Pre-Captain armors have special synergies with specific weapons, improving their effects when wearing a full set.

Pre-Boss Tier
Leather summoner set
The starter set that can be crafted on the first day and have stamina regen to help with early game surface exploring.
When using this set the bear minion will do 20% more damage on hit and the bleeding debuff will last longer.

Copper miner set
The cave counterpart to the leather set.
When using this set the light emited from all lamp and candelabra minions is increased, helping with cave exploration alongside it's mining speed bonus.

Red spider set
An upgrade to the spider set.
On hit with summon weapons causes slow instead of poison and also provides blindness immunity along with the slow immunity, making it a good option to explore the swamp caves.
When using this set the red spider minions gets an additional effect of increasing the poison damage on foes from all sources.

Pre-Captain Tier
Bloodplate mask set
The effect of this set is the same as vanilla but the mask have lower health regen than the cowl, but it also improves the damage and projectile velocity of both vampire and coffin minions.

Frost crown set
This set inflicts the freezing debuff which slows foes by 30% and damages by 3 flat frost damage every second.
When using this set the following weapons gets buffed:
Polar head - 20% damage and longer debuff
Frozen book - 20% damage, faster projectile and 50% chance to shoot more javelins
Explosive snowball - 100% more explosion damage and bigger radius
Ice wizard staff - 20% damage and faster projectile

Summoner plague set
This set increases the duration of potions by 100% and spawn mouses every 20 seconds during combat and they hit can foes only once before dying.
You can have up to 8 rats simultaneously, they deals 30 damage and last 20 seconds each.
When you remove your armor or swap to other set slot all your rats will dissapear.

Pharaoh's mask set
This set summons a locust everytime you kill an enemy with a 0.5 second cooldown, if the locust kills a foe another one can spawn creating a chain reacting.

Pre-Incursion Tier
Shadow set
The haunt debuff deals posion damage over time.

Shadow horror set
The horror spirits have 2% chance of being spawned every hit and you can have up to 5 of them.
Each spirit deals 50 damage and dissapear after hitting once.

Spider bride set
This set gives you immunity to slow, your summon attacks will deal 5 flat poison damage (same as the shadow set) and you have the abilitty to summon a spider bride.
The spider bride lasts 15 seconds, spits poison projectiles that deals 35 damage and have 33% chance to shoot a web projectile that slows foes by 40%.

Aged summoner set
This set spawns a melee minion while you are at max health, this minion don't count as a summoned minion, which means it don't reduces the effect from the Companion Locket but still benefits from it.

Endgame Tier
Ghost captain set
This set have the ability to spawn the ghost captain ship, which lasts 15 seconds and shoots cannonballs for 50 damage.
Trinkets

Most of the trinkets of this mod are combinations of others trinkets, all trinkets are crafted at the summoning table and more trinkets are unlocked as you upgrade your table.

Summoning Table:
  • Mesmer Charm - This trinket almost double the duration of trinket that uses stamina, mostly boots

Demonic Summoning Table:
  • Demonic Polar Claw -

Tungsten Summoning Table:
  • Shadow Horror Cape -

Potions

All potions are crafted at the alchemy table and can be found at cave chests on alchemy setpieces.

Alchemy:
  • Summon Critical Chance Potion
  • Summon Critical Damage Potion
  • Summon Short Range Potion
  • Summon Range Potion
  • Summon Speed Potion

Caveglow alchemy:
  • Summon Attack Speed Potion
  • Summon Farming Potion
Banners
These banners increases stats that aren't necessarily for summoners but they allow synergies to many types of builds:

  • Banner of Resilience - Increases your max resilience by 10% and gives 10 resilience regen when out of combat
  • Banner of Bouncing - Projectiles can bounce from walls up to 4 times
  • Banner of Dashing - Gives an additional dash stack and reduces your dash cooldown by 10%
  • Banner of Essence - Increases the duration of your essences by 200%
  • Banner of Picking - Increases your item pickup range by 8
  • Banner of Stamina - Increases your max stamina by 40%, stamina regen by 10% and reduces your stamina usage by 10%
  • Banner of Mana - Increases max mana by 10% and mana regen by 25%
Enemies
This mod also adds a few new foes with exclusive drops for crafting summoner equipment.

Horror Spirit
Found at deep forest caves they behave like other spirits, flying through walls and attacking players with melee hits. They have 50% chance to drop Pure Horror ranging from 1 to 5.

Rift Portal
A boss that can be summoned by using a Shadow Horror Portal crafted at the summoning table, it can be summoned only during night at surface islands.
The rift portal is a stationary boss that spawns horror spirits to attack the player and after reaching 50% missing health it will start to spawn ancient horror spirits.

Ancient Horror Spirit
Spawned from the rift portal, they are a stronger version of horror spirits that attack by shooting spike projectiles. They always drop Pure Horror ranging from 5 to 10.
Materials
This mod adds some new materials and also gives new ways to obtain some vanilla ones.

New materials
  • Pure Horror - obtained by killing horror spirits, used to craft horror weapons, shadow horror armor set and horror trinkets

New recipes
  • Book - crafted at the summoning bookshelf with 2 leather, 5 map fragments and 1 void shard

New drops
  • All types of enchanted zombies have 5% chance of dropping 4 spoiled foods, which is used for many crafts of this mod
