Rank 1 Sapphire knives do not have dark lines on the blade. The best pattern Rank 1 - 0 and 0. Rank 2 Sapphire has the minimum number of dark lines. Rank 3 has dark lines or spots on the blade, but the blade also remains Max Sapphire.
