Fate 1
Gameplay:
1. Works just fine on steam deck maxed out at 60fps. Has built in controller support. Cannot rebind button in-game but can be done in the back end with the controller configuration menu of the Steam Deck.
2. Buy a fishing pole.
3. The fishing mechanic is "wait for ! and then pull" with added RNG which can fail to pull up a fish whether you timed it right or not.
4. Feeding fish to your pet transforms it into more powerful creatures.
5. You can send your pet to town to sell all your junk (the further in the dungeon you are the longer this takes)
6. This game can generate up to 2.1 million dungeon floors. You can keep going down the rabbit hole trying to feed a mental illness or just beat the final boss for the same results.
7. Some dungeon floors contain little events that can alter your character stats negatively or positively. It is randomly decided upon interaction.
8. You can transfer your hero from Fate 1 to Fate 2 and keep moving forward but you cannot take your hero from Fate 2 to Fate 1. Basically you can move forward in order of game release but cannot go back.
9. All your stuff transfers with you when you move on to the next game in the series. Transferring from Traitor Soul to Cursed King will only carry over your Hero/pet and whats in their inventory bag.
10. Interaction with NPCs close together can be fidgety. The NPC model will get a little brighter to indicate that your hero is targeting them. Sometimes the targeting assumes the direction you are facing and sometimes it assumes the nearest NPC or last NPC interacted with. The indicator can be hard to see sometimes. I found that walking away and then coming back with my character facing the NPC I want to interact with helps.

Combat:
1. Critical Strike stat only works for physical attacks. Magic is not affected. Summons are not affected.
2. Target circles do not appear on enemies when using a controller. You cannot "lock on" to enemies when attacking with a controller.

Quests
1.You can have up to 3 side quests at a time
2. NPCs with available side quests will not tell you what they are unless you have an open side quest slot.
3. Accept side quests only for the floor you are on.
4. Do not fully explore a dungeon floor until all side quests for that floor have been completed (objectives spawn in unexplored areas and fully exploring a floor will soft lock you from completing the objectives)
5. There are more sidequests for a floor than what you can carry at one time.

Gameplay Loop:

1. Pick up sidequests for the floor you are on
2. Complete a sidequest
3. Run back to town to turn it in and pick up another one for the floor you are on
4. Repeat this until there are no more sidequests for that floor
5. Clear the floor and go to the next one to do it all over again with harder enemies.

Gameplay:
8: You mentioned you can import characters upwards, To clarify this works as long as you are going upwards. Fate 1 to Fate 4 works too.

10: Make sure you are facing away from a staircase or trader when you use a town portal, as to not make them clip and impossible to interact with

Extra: Fate 1, once you defeat the (i think its always a hydra) on level 40, the wizard next to the entrance allows you to "prestige" which will allow you to take one item to a new game. The item will have its enchants increased slightly, and requirements decreased slightly. I recommend importing the character into the next game before this if you plan on moving to the next game.

You have made a good guide and see you on floor 2,147,483,648. :yourFate:
