Booby Trapping Vehicles With Explosives

Introduction
After having my vehicle stolen three times in one session while running supplies I wanted to see if it was possible to effectively boobytrap your vehicles from unwanted occupants. I wanted to share my findings with anyone else that may be experiencing a similar problem.

My tests were conducted on Experimental 1.3.0.55 using Game Master on the Russian side using TNT. American C4 is stronger, but should have similar results. The drivers of the vehicle were Russian soldiers wearing the default kit. Unless stated otherwise, one block of TNT was used each operation.

Something thing I’ve noticed is the damage explosives deal are not entirely consistent so your results may differ.
UAZ-469 Off-Road
  • An explosive placed on engine of the vehicle will kill the occupant and cause the vehicle to explode. If the vehicle does not explode immediately it will soon catch fire.
  • Placed on the rear of the vehicle will render the driver unconscious. The vehicle will still be in a drivable state.
Ural-4320
  • An explosive placed on the front grille will render the drive unconscious and the vehicle drivable.
  • Placed on the fuel tank will destroy the vehicle.
  • Rear of vehicle does nothing to the driver.
  • Hood on the truck will kill the driver and leave the truck drivable.
BTR-70
  • Two explosives near the rear will render both driver and gunner knocked out. There will be minor damage to the fuel tanks.
  • Targeting the driver's side front blast shielding or front paneling will kill the driver. The gunner will be fine.
  • Placing an explosive on top of the gun will kill the gunner and render the driver unconscious.
  • Placed on the side entrance hatches will not cause damage to the occupants. The two inner wheels will be damaged.
Mi-8MT
  • An explosive placed behind the front tire (use free look to place the explosive) renders both pilots uncon. Minor hull damage
  • Placed below the pilot/co-pilot in front of the front landing gear. Both pilots are dead with minimal hull damage.
  • Placed on the entry door will kill the pilot.
  • Two blocks of TNT for the rotor assembly. Both pilots are unharmed.
  • It takes two blocks of TNT to destroy the tail rotor.
S1203 Minibus
  • An explosive placed near the front driver’s side will kill the driver and puncture the driver’s side tire.
  • Placed on the center of the grill will destroy the vehicle, killing the driver.
  • An explosive placed on the trunk will knock out the driver and damage the tires.
  • Any explosive placed on the side/roof paneling will cause the vehicle to explode.
