"⚠️⚠️IF YOUR GAME IS UNDER MINIMUM OR RECOMMENDED REQUIREMENTS THIS GUIDE WON'T DO MUCH⚠️⚠️"

as most people experienced the game is under performing even on recommended hardware, this will help you keep as much stability as possible as of right now, sadly the game is still badly optimized, as the game keeps updating we can hope for better results.

SETTINGS
the reasons for this settings is that it keeps as much quality as possible while having good frame rate,
people with 12GB VRAM can push to high textures if wanted, for 8GB medium works best for no drops, high textures can work on 8GB but with some drops here and there, that is why i do not recommended, totally playable with just frame gen on without upscale but is high suggestible to use as certain areas still badly optimized
COMPLETELY OPTIONAL
go to the location where the game is installed C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Marvel's Spider-Man 2 create a folder inside where you have your game installed with any name, move the following archives to said folder: dstorage.dll and dstoragecore.dll

it has been proven this two has been causing a lot of performance issues and it helped me so give it a try

EDIT: as of patch 4 i haven't seen a performance issue by having this files on so try yourself and see if it is better, but im pretty sure is better to leave them on

EDIT
if you have AMD GPU, highly suggest disable instant replay or radeon relive ect any capture, why? my in-game available VRAM was 5 out of 8, when it should be at most 6.32gb or 6.50gb for games as the OS+apps should only use 1.5 or 2gb, (if you have 12gb vram or more i dont think it will do much)

@Mentor, i hope u were ahble to fix it, i stop having bad experience or bad performance long time ago as more patches came through, i wasnt able to answer since i was on the military but i do know that ray tracing is known for crashing this game very easily

I bought this game yesterday.
I have both minimum and recommended settings and in multiple occasions the game froze and shut down my PC.
I am on AMD (all drivers updated):
AMD Ryzen 5 5600X 6-Core Processor 3.70 GHz
AMD Radeon RX 7600
32GB of RAM
Any advises? Is it just me or people still experience crashes and bad performance?

@sv0ty, at the time i uploaded this the game had almost no update and the texture loading was kinda messed up with or without and it gave no problem with textures to me, i do have to update tho as they fix more of these files

But is it "deleting" from the game dstorage.dll and dstoragecore.dll doesn't affect texture loading? I've seen complaints that after deleting these files, some textures didn't load on people.

@metadadda, i need to update the guide since i have change somethings but its good to know its helping the community, btw as you progress some parts become even more unpleaseant to play because of the bad optimization
Riku  [author] 13 Feb @ 1:35pm
@jason, is in the folder where you have your game installed, it might or might not get you better performance but mostly it does
