Gameplay Settings
I haven’t made too many changes to the default settings since they’re already quite solid, in my opinion. The main adjustments I’ve made are:

Field of View (FOV):
I’ve set mine to 100, which I find perfect—it allows you to see enemies at a distance and also spot those moving to your sides. You can adjust this to your preference, but setting it to the maximum can make it harder to spot enemies at a distance due to the wider field of view.

Profanity Filter:
I’ve enabled this since I stream Hell Let Loose occasionally. Keeping the chat clean ensures a more positive environment for the audience, which is why I prefer it turned on.

Ping Duration:
I’ve set my ping duration to 5 seconds, as I find longer pings can be distracting. However, this doesn’t affect how long your teammates see the ping—it depends on their individual settings.

Nameplates Settings:
I’ve set everything to the maximum, with "Nameplate Use Icons Only" adjusted to 15%. This is especially useful since I frequently play as Armor or Sniper. Having these settings maximized helps me avoid accidentally hitting friendlies, as I can easily identify their locations.

These tweaks work well for my playstyle and help ensure a better overall experience.

Video Settings
I use "fullscreen mode" primarily because it makes it easier to ALT-TAB when I need to handle something quickly while playing *Hell Let Loose*. The game runs perfectly smooth for me in this mode, and it allows me to multitask without any issues.

For brightness, I adjust it between 110 and 120 depending on the map. Some areas can be darker than others. For instance, on the Foy map (a snow map), I set it to 105 to avoid blinding myself, while on Omaha Beach, I increase it to 120 for better visibility. In my experience, this adjustment improves visuals and makes it easier to spot enemies, especially those hiding in dark corners. Of course, this is a personal preference, but it works well for me—and my friends use similar settings too.

As for the other settings, I’ll be honest—they’re mostly copied from a guide I found three years ago, and I’ve stuck with them ever since. While these settings might vary depending on your PC, I prioritize smooth gameplay and fun over ultra-high-quality graphics. In my opinion, lower settings can actually provide an advantage, like spotting enemies more easily from a distance or through bushes, compared to having everything set to EPIC.

When it comes to **SSAO** and **Motion Blur**, I always have these toggled OFF in every game.

Turning off SSAO (Screen Space Ambient Occlusion) improves performance, and honestly, I don’t find the subtle shadow enhancements worth the potential FPS drop. As for Motion Blur, I just find it unnecessary and distracting—it doesn’t add much to the experience and can make things harder to see during fast movements.

This is purely personal preference, but I’d recommend trying both OFF for a cleaner, smoother gaming experience.

Keybind Settings
The only keybinding I’ve changed in Hell Let Loose, since it’s not set automatically, is assigning the "freelook" option to the "ALT" key on my keyboard. As infantry, this allows you to look left and right while holding "ALT" as you move around the map. It’s a very handy feature, and I highly recommend everyone enable it.

In my opinion, many players still don’t know about this option, but it can be a game-changer. For example, it might help you spot an enemy sneaking up on you, giving you a critical advantage. So, set it up and start using it as soon as possible!

Sound Settings
Keep in mind, these are just my personal settings that work perfectly for me. Of course, it all comes down to personal preference, and what works for me might also work well for you.

I won’t go into full detail since most of it is pretty self-explanatory, but here’s an important point to consider: some officers, commanders, or even squadmates can be *extremely* loud over comms—so loud that it can be distracting. You definitely don’t want that.

The goal is to balance your audio so you can clearly hear your commander, officers, or squadmates while still being able to pick up on crucial in-game sounds like enemy footsteps. My current settings achieve this balance perfectly for me, allowing me to hear everything clearly and without distortion.

I’d suggest giving it a try, but at the end of the day, it’s all about what feels right for you.
