Ixia yea its a fictional road. They bought older locomotives that didn't have the same technology the newer ones did so they needed separate train crews for each set of DPUs on the train. The map is again fictional but its based on the super steep grades in the cascade range. So its rare for the trains to not have at least one or two locomotives somewhere on the train.

I think the DPU + Caboose would make more sense if the caboose was placed after the DPU.
