Gate 1: Abbey
Here there be spoilers, this is not a place of honor, etc., etc., consider yourselves warned.

After you reach the Anchorites, you will be given a key doodad that is the perfect size to fit in all those mysterious purple doors you've seen throughout your adventures. Now, the portals you want to go to to find each gate will be shown on the tower map. But you've been adventuring so much you may have forgotten how to get from there to where you (may have) originally saw the purple gates.

The portal you want to go to for the first purple gate is the 2nd one.

This will bring you to the Abbey. You want to go to the room just above the Abbey garden for this one. In case you got confounded, just head straight right from this portal until you hit the garden, then go up a room.

There's a room hidden in the top behind a plant, but enter there and find the first gate. There's a scene depicted on the terminal that you need to describe. The answer is "preacher look potion potion".

Then just head inside and continue onwards.
Gate 2: Fortress
Go to the 3rd portal this time. From here, go up and just follow the path until you reach the foyer. You want to head to the room to the bottom right.

Once again, insert your doodad into the lock and describe the scene: "plural warrior carry vessel".

Continue onwards once more.

Now, until the abbey gate this one takes slightly more finangling. There's a speedy guy between you and the Exile, and he's just aching to zap you with a taser. Like you've done many a time already, just sneak your way over.

If you can't figure this one out, go to the near side of the center block, then the far side, then head to the near side of the left-most block, then the far side.

Once you shut off the Exile, the zappy guy will also shut off so don't worry, you only have to do this once.
Gate 3: Garden
Now for this one, you have to head through the sewers again. I know, I know, such a pain. Fear not, I am here to help. Just head up, up, left.

And voilà, you have arrived at the next purple gate! Password to open the door: "theatre bard plural go".

This time, there are not one but two feisty zapper guys. For this one, just sort of sprint from one end to the other when the coast is clear, you don't need to do anything fancy.
Gate 4: Laboratories
Head to the 9th gate, second from the top. Head up to enter the Library, then run around until you find the exit. I'm just messing with you, after all I'm your lovely directional guide.

Head left, then go down the stairs in the bottom right. Then go up and take the doorway to the left. Now that you've made it to the front of the library, take the stairs down on the left side to find your final door.

You're at the final gate! This image can be described as: "6 book plural".

Even more battery-powered friends are here to test their lightning bolt makers on unsuspecting victims. This one is a bit trickier and you have to pay more attention to the timing. Head to the center, moving to the far side of the wall only when the middle guy has passed and can't see you. Then just sprint to the end when the coast is clear.
Portal Conversations
I didn't originally include this section, but for the sake of completion, here are all the different conversations at the different terminals. Within the story, all the groups lost the ability to understand each other, so you need to reconnect them by translating from one language to the other. I'm only going to be giving the translations, but there's a really great guide explaining the differences between the languages here if you'd like to understand them better:

The end...?
Okay so this part is even more spoilery! If you only came here for the locations of the purple gates, look away now.

Final warning!

I mean it!

Without further ado, here's what happens after you translate the conversations at each portal and deal with all the purple gates.

Once you head up to the very top of the tower, I am pleased to inform you that you now get to play the whole game all over again! This time, with added glitches. Just kidding. I don't want to spoil everything here, but I'll give you hints on how to solve the puzzles.

You run into your little hide-and-seek buddy here, and after following him around, you find yourself back in the fortress. The gate you want to go through is locked, and the terminal is glitching out a bit. The answer is back in the mural room, so head over there and figure out which mural you need: the far-right one. You can read most of it, but one of the characters is jumbled. It's pretty easy to guess from the image, though. The full sentence you need is "plural impure make music".

Continue following your friend to the Gardens, then just head straight. There's a cranky Bard outside the Theatre. To appease them, head straight in. You'll see something glinting in the water. Pick it up, then give it to the Bard. They'll berate you, but then your friend shows up again! To continue on, your pal will operate the elevator for you so you can get around all the rubble blocking the way into the Theatre.

When you get to the old portal, you'll see that you need another password. This one can be (mostly) found in the script pinned against the wall in the previous room.

This time, the password is "brother idiot bard find".

The door has opened for you! Except now you're back outside the Abbey gate. You need another password, so head left to look at the murals. Except... the mural you want is gone. Head down the stairs to look for the pieces of the mural. There's one on the floor that's mostly broken so it won't give you the reading, but if you look at the Alchemists' language, you can tell that it looks like the symbol for "plural".

Go a bit further, and you'll find the rest of the mural with only the word "make".

You're going to have to figure out what the mural originally said, but it's pretty straight forward to guess from the image, especially since you know the middle two are "plural make".

The full message is: "alchemist plural make formula".

Now, you get to pass through the Abbey gate. Except then our old friend the Sun-fearing monster from the laboratories comes over to give us a hug. Also, it's not as afraid of the Sun this time. Just sprint away from it as fast as you can and try not to get attacked. Just keep sprinting, just keep sprinting...

Eventually, you reach a maze. The path you want to take is up, right, up, left, up, right. Just keep running from the monster until you find your little buddy again, then continue running from the monster. You'll see a lever, pull it to dump the monster off a bridge. Yay!

And that's all from me folks, I don't want to spoil the ending for you lovely people.
