Tips
Gameplay:
- Travel at night if possible, staying in a corner wastes time (You have about one hour and 30 min (real life time) from spawning in before nuclear strike = dead)
- You have about 5 days (in game) to get as many objectives as possible. Its possible if you get lucky to do all objectives in 30 min.
- Pressing Esc or M does not pause the game
- In order to extract you need to have the satellite up and at least 4 objectives completed.
- Certain doors in game need you to interact with the white square highlighted next to them first to open that door. It checks if your infected and will damage you if you are.
- Every door in game needs the generator on in order to be opened. Unless you have a pickaxe to just break the door.

Traveling:
- When driving you can press tab to change into third person POV.
- While riding the snowmobile press F to turn on the light. It does not use more gas.
- Helicopters have a very steep learning curve would not recommend using for new players
- Follow the lights to go from area to area do not stray too far away (can crash the snowmobile or get lost)
- There's a giant hole with a bunker next to the lights going from Base Camp 1 and 2. Be careful as falling in it takes alot of time to get out.

Location:
- You can now move the laser mines by holding E (default).
- Shelter does not have a place to warm up or evac be wary of this.
- Base Camp 1 and 2 have a objective that needs the Satellite up in order to do upload data.
- Research station has the hardest objective if you end up getting unlucky, as you have to get infected (get hit by monster) save it either for last or first.

Enemies:
- There is a new enemy called the mimic which spawns in as a player model with their name.
- They're easy to tell from real players since as soon as they see you they just run in a straight line towards you and don't speak.
- You can often hear enemies if you can't see them. It will be a loud shuffling sound. Make sure to have your volume up.
- The monsters go for the generator first before attacking the player if there is one running.
- Dogs can get infected and transform into monsters
- The black tendrils that come out of enemies cannot infect you unless you turned the option on when starting a game session.
- When enemies are killed watch out for a crab that comes out. If can instantly kill you. The crab either runs away or if your too close jumps on you.

Weapons:
- Shotgun and rifle one shots all enemies if its a direct hit.
- The best weapons are shotgun, rifle, or revolver. Flamer takes a few seconds to kill enemies which gives them time to hit you. Its still a good weapon but you have to back away while using it.
- You can refuel the flamer at a gas pump.
- The new smg is good but it uses way too much ammo and has a wide bullet spray. I don't like it because of this.
- You can now rotate laser mines in the buildings to a direction but interacting with them
- Bullets shoot from the barrel of the gun not from the player.

Items:
- Gas cans are a must always try to find one (refuels snowmobile)
- Grenades have a high arc when thrown so I wouldn't recommend using them indoors.
- Flares can be used as distractions from enemies as they run towards them first allowing you to run away.
- Glowsticks are better for seeing in the night than flashlights as they can run out of battery.
- Motion detector is the best item to have, it removes having to look around for enemies at night and you just have to listen for a beep
- Pickaxe is a really good item if you just want to get in a building without turning on the generator.
My Solo Run

I did not know about the pickaxe trick. Now I am going to be using this to help speed run both by myself and with friends.
Good looking out.

@Rusinio Hey I'm glad the guide was helpful. The computer for extracting is a beige little screen that spawns on any of the named locations (except shelter) and you press e to interact with it. You then click the extraction button to call the escape helicopter. If you need a example one go to base camp 2 and head to the big rectangle building with the metal small bridge attached to it. There's one there as soon as you walk in.

Hey there, really helpful guide. I had only one problem that is i can never find the military phone to complete the run. Do you know what location might be it? I tried extracting with the regular extraction from the pc but it leads to "fail the mission"

@Minerva I like running Nightmare Detector, Health Regen, and Cold Blooded. If you meant making a section for perks thats a good idea, i'll think about it.
