How to skip cutscenes without beating the game first.

For some reason God of War Ragnarok doesn't allow to skip cutscenes by default. Here is a guide showing how to enable cutscene skipping:

Method 1:

1. Locate binary file: "userpreferences" in "C:\Users\<username>\Saved Games\God of War Ragnarök\<id>"
2. Open the file using a program that allows you to view and modify binary files--I'm using notepad++ with the Hex-Editor plugin.
3. Modify the highlighted field (addressed 73 in hexadecimal) from 00 to 01 and save the changes.

4. Open the game and go to the Gameplay settings section to view if the option is enabled.

5. Enjoy cutscene skipping.

Method 2:

1. Get a savefile (nexus mods site has some) that has the game already completed and put it in: "C:\Users\<username>\Saved Games\God of War Ragnarök\<id>"
2. After loading the savefile the game should recognize game completion and unlock the cutscene skipping option for you.

For 2018, I modified the field at 0000:00B4 from 1B to 1F and it seems to have worked. New game+ shows up in the main menu and skip cutscenes is visible and enabled in the settings. I checked with the first cutscene on ng and I was able to skip.

This may need further testing, as all I did was compare the files when a 100% save had skip cutscenes on vs off then tried the difference that "looked right".

AssFat > As long as the value of field 73 is 1 you should be good.

amara > There is definitely something similar for gow 2018; I'd suggest following method 2 of this guide.
