Introduction
"My dear fellow,” said the Librarian as we sat on either side of the fire in their lodgings at Hush House, “life is infinitely stranger than anything which the mind of man could invent. We would not dare to conceive the things which are really mere commonplaces of existence. If we could fly out of that window hand in hand, hover over this great Hush House, gently remove the roof, and peep in at the queer things which are going on, the Secret Histories, the Ithastry, the Moth, the wonderful chains of events, working through generations of barons and librarians, and leading to the most outre results, it would make all fiction with its conventionalities and foreseen conclusions most stale and unprofitable.” And I, after slip my Honeyscar Jasmine Tea, promptly replied, "Wat?"

Well, secrets.

Should I make this Guide? Is this needed? Will it spoil the fun? I don’t know, but I worry about it, and I’ll worry until the end of this guide.

This guide is probably useless because there are very nice people how already do guides and write down stuff (all in Reference) so try out those guides too.

Anyway, the point here is to talk about those secrets WITHOUT giving them right away. The most fun part in Book of Hours (BoH) is finding out things (I guess), so this guide tries to help to find them without much spoiler.

Like those guides when you have:

What is love?
1. Tip one: Baby, don’t hurt me
2. Tip two: don’t hurt me
3. Tip Three: no more
Answer: "What Is Love", a song by Haddaway

Anddddd I decided to compile my notes about hidden secrets here (because I always forgot where I put them or erased them or just lost them).

Wish me luck!

(no image for now, btw)
Which Secret are we talking about?
In game context, we are playing in Secret Histories Universe. It englobes Cultism Simulator, Book of Hours, Lady Afterwards and now Travelling at Night. But I’m not talking about this, I’m talking about literally secrets you can find on the Hush House map or interacting with objects!

Secret Histories are things WAYYYYYY OUT my knowledge. Maybe if you read this guide below could help to understand it a little (it helps me, but I still lost as ♥♥♥♥).

So, for understanding sake I call those things/items Hidden Secrets.

The game ALWAYS tips the player about where to find things, how to interact with them, where to look etc. Theoretically, you can find everything by yourself. So that’s very important to read everything. Read everything.
What kind of Hidden Secrets can we find?
Let’s classify the hidden secrets as:
  • objects
  • spaces
  • interactions
I’ll explain one by one and give a general tip:

Objects
There are objects you can interact with (Consider) and then find out a hidden item.

The tips is: observe inconsistencies.
  • similar items but different descriptions
  • an object with a peculiar adjective in its name
  • items with mirror images…
“Consider” those and find out what you could possibly achieve. But, by doing it, the original item may be or not destroyed.

This applies to the others hidden stuff too, but it’s manly useful here.

Spaces
There are spaces where you can click and opens a compartment and then you find a hidden item. Those are the hardest secrets since I haven’t found any clue about them in books, loading screen or whatever. I do remember one of the update games talks about those secrets, but my memory fails me.

The ultimate tip is: observe the scenario.
  • Is there something with a different color scheme? Click on it!
  • Is there a place where you think “I would totally hidden something here!”? Click on it!
  • Is there a place that, for no obvious reason, gets your attention? Click on it!

Interactions
Some secrets can be discovery but put an item or skill in some Workstations after read this and that and let things flow.

The recommendation is: write what you find interesting.

I consider them hidden since you need extra information to achieve this I mean, who would though “ohh, let me sleep with this rock!” and them find something. The game gives you hits here and there, in books, in skills, in descriptions, after Consider things and others stuff, but it’s a chain of events that leads you to finally discover something.

Of course, BoH it’s not a punitive game or hardcore puzzle (I… guess…?), but if you want to deep in the lore and stuff you need to read and write down. I can’t see other ways.

That’s understandable tiresome for those players who don't enjoy it or don’t have patience or are just lost (like me), it’s a good thing the community helps each other. In the Reference Chapter there are thons of guides with the desire to help, I recommend check on them.
What Hidden Objects can we find?
There are 6 objects you can find (one tips works for two objects since they are the same but in different locations).
Tell me if you find others!

Hidden objects 1
1. I don’t know you, but when I start play the game, I Consider every single object in this House
2. I stopped when I reached that four-room staircase, but later I discovered that I shouldn't have.
3. At least, not in this room, I mean it has so little to Consider that wouldn’t be destroyed …

Answer: In the “Grand Ascent - Ground Floor”, Consider the “Delightful Repose” (red sofa) will reveal a “Bronze Spintria”

Hidden objects 2
1. LOL there is a room where the chair can sing!
2. If I remember, there’s something about a librarian in this chair…
3. But is not as comfortable as the other one…

Answer: In the “Fludd Gallery”, there will be a blue chair named “Lumpy Melodic Chair”. Consider it will reveal a “Pale Moment”

Hidden objects 3
1. Hm, the skull has a cute twin!
2. And it has a different Principle
3. But of course it would have! It shines!

Answer: There is an item called “Glinting Cranial Tchotchke”. Consider it will reveal a “Dearday Lens”. Don't remember if the skull becames "Cranial Tchotchke” or is destroyed, but I believe the first one happens.

Hidden objects 4
1. Can the food in Hush House spoil?
2. The texture feel wrong for this kind of vegetable
3. It's kind of softy, ewww
4. Better take a look at it (Consider) before trying to save the vegetable in some recipe.

Answer: Consider a "Soft Amber Pumpkin" will reveal a "Cuckoo-Honey", the pumpkin will be destroyed in the process.

Hidden objects 5
1. Hush House is so pretty and well furnished! There are pretty candles all over the place.
2. But this one is kind of heavy! I prefer the normal candle holders
3. BTW, which librarian came up with this idea to let heavy candles wear besides the beds???

Answer: In the “Servant’s Quarter – North” and “Motley Tower – Regensburg Room”, you will find a “Weighty Bedside Candleholder” and after considering it, the candle will be destroyed but you will find a “Gervinite”
What Hidden Spaces can we find?
For now, I find three Hidden Spaces, they are all a hidden compartment and have a slightly different color scheme:

Hidden Space nº1: easy level
1. You can find it in a room very early in the game
2. The room has a very useful workstation, especially if want to welcome visitors
3. The room has two beautiful windows
Answer: In Watchman's Tower: First Floor, click on the wall right between the windows. It contains a “Gervinite”

Hidden Space nº2: medium level
1. A Librarian loved this room
2. There is a peculiar painting on it
3. The room has a unique shelf for a unique book format
Answer: In the Westcott Room, click on the wall panel to the left of the scroll slots. It contains a “Black Dove Wine”.

Hidden Space nº3: hard level
1. For an advanced room, it’s really cheap to unlock
2. Especially for the librarians, it’s a very cozy place, with plants, a strange table, art and books
3. There are even curtains and a nice fireplace.
Answer: In the Librarian’s quarters, click on the wall left of fireplace and below curtain. It contains a “Journal of Sir David Greene, 1903”
What Hidden Interactions can we find?
There are, for now, 11 interactions. Some you must “Consider” stuffs, others you to read the description of stuff, or need a specific Skill, or specific object, or just read some books.

Below are the "easy" ones:

About your Librarian
1. Other games have done something similar, like Stardew Valley
2. There are real worlds “news” on it.
3. The only screen you can see you, the Librarian

Answer: In the game title at the game menu, click on the Librarian Face (the “f” letter, specifically). A message “View Hidden papers?” will appear under the title. Click on it to have access to a found with secrets papers.

Generations unto generations
1. There is a gallery with empty spaces with important tags
2. And there are many statues around the Hush House
3. What if you match them in the chronological position?

Answer: By chronological placing the busts of Barons and Librarians in the Grand Ascent (four rooms in total) you receive an extra Element of Soul: Wist and the Achievement “Much Is Lost... But We Abide” .

Succession
The Hidden Interaction “Generations unto generations” is a prerequisite for this one.
1. By finishing the gallery of Barons and Librarians there are two empty spots
2. You know who you are, but what about the other one?
3. What if you left something to your successor?
4. You probably wouldn’t’ be there to see the results… unless you are the Librarian again

Answer: By putting any object at the "13th Librarian" position at the Grand Ascent -Third Floor, after completing the game, this item will appear in the "12th Librarian" position in your next game. This is called multi-game .

Fan nº1
1. Some books have an author
2. Those authors visit your library
3. Maybe they can give you an autograph?

Answer: Some visitors are authors of the books in your collection, if you present their book, they will return give a gift as return. Show those books won’t end their visit to Hush House.

Lost Key
1. A librarian was tired of losing the Hush House Key so they made it special
2. Them it “magically” comes back, no? But you kind of lost it
3. Where would you hide your keys when leaving the house?
4. Some people hide it close to earth or water
5. Sometimes you need to dig deeper to find it, to really dive in this search

Answer: Serena Blackwood forged the Hush House Key because she was tired of losing it. So, the key magically comes back to you when gathering the earth of the House or diving the sea.
To dig around the house you need a Skill with Nectar. To swim in the sea, just a Heart Element of Soul

A keyhole
1. There is a room where at the same time it’s very creepy, kind of pretty and absurdly old
2. It’s shares it name with the Workstation on it
3. It’s only Workstation that accepts a Key Aspect in the game
4. As the owner of the Hush House, you have a key

Answer: At the Rowenarium room, there is Workstation with the same name. By using the Hush House Key on it you will receive “Towards a Fundamental Aesthetic: Second Edition.
What Hidden IInteractions can we find?
Below are hidden interactions I consider most difficult, and you need to be in late game to achieve them. Some you must “Consider” stuffs, others you to read the description of stuff, or need a specific Skill, or specific object, or just read some books.

A text so badly scratched that is hardly called an edict
You should interact with some objects Consider things and read descriptions for things, skill, consider books and stuff for this one.
1. There is an edict that successive Librarians all failed to understand
2. But somehow it became an inspiration for the librarians
3. So much it’s display in a room for all Librarian
4. However, at this time in game, u r (probably) skillful enough to decipher it. Maybe u should try
5. After all, some skills were made for this. U remember some books say so
6. What are they again? A book by Fr. Stanislav John Schaller, isn’t it? And Nyn’s something too, the description after u study it
7. One of thoses books writes about a covenant-stone of the Watchman's Tree. Isn’t the Hush House part of the Watchman’s Tree or something, isn’t it?
8. And the other book say to invoke something u should… sleep? Wat?
9. So… that’s meant to sleep… with the stone????

Direct Answer: By sleeping with “Inscribed Stone” in any bed with “Edicts Inviolable or Edicts Liminal” Skill you receive “The Three and the Three (St Chiavi Manuscript)”.

Answer Explaination:
At the Librarian's Quarter room, there is an item named “Inscribed Stone”. By Consider it, you learn that many librarians try to understand it but fail.
The book “Deaths and their Evasions” by Fr. Stanislav John Schaller says hits you about the Inscribed Stone and that Edicts Liminal could be the key (plus gives you 2 lessons of “Edicts Liminal”).
The skills “Edicts Inviolable” and “Edicts Liminal” explain in their descriptions they’re used to decipher hidden or occult text.
Nyn's Cages (both Avignon Text and Bruges Text, Illuminated) give you hits to sleep with the stone
And other books imply that some hidden knowledge is only perceived at Mansus since it’s a Dream realm and we live in the Wake realm (hello Cultism Simulator!)

Ambrose's purpose
1. After reading a book written by Ambrose in another language, he said (in an uncharacteristically serious tone for him) that he has returned a book to somewhere, and something about 'Abbot Geffrey's Secret' and to receive it you need certain invocations of the Sacra whatever and something about a History. Welp let’s find out!
2. What do the other books say about this? Ambrose’ book shouldn’t be the only one… Since Ambrose’s book talks about “heresy and tainted stuff” maybe there is a book that writes about it too
3. Should we read Abbot Geffrey's books? But Celia’s book hits better to me, it’s more accurate, after all, it does talk about “heresy and tainted stuff”
4. I mean, what was Abbot Geffrey's Secret again? Whatever! Let’s find some clue in the Church of the Hush House, I mean it’s BEAUTIFUL, maybe there something…?
5. Celia’s book gives a very important tip, perhaps the best thing to do is to observe the inconsistencies rather than the beauty of the place
6. I mean, I must say Theology is a very interesting field; even political! For a Church so restricted it is almost ironic to have a Shrine for deities they deny. I guess that's theology for you

Direct Answer: At the room “Chancel of the Abbey Church” there is a workstation name “Shrine: the Chancel”. By using “Sacra Limiae” skill on it (or “Sickle & Eclipse” skill for some reason), you receive “The Sun Disfigured” .

Answer Explaination: By what I read and understand, Ambrose finds “The Sun Disfigured” and try to solve it. To do it he’s kinnnd of established the Curia of the Isle. Anddd I think he didn’t manage to solve the it.

Triple Knot’s altar
1. There are many books that talk about a Triple Knot, and there are three in particular that talk about an Altar
2. Hm… isn’t a room dedicated to them in the Hush House with an Altar? Maybe it’s a good idea to look around, read stuff, I mean, what or who are the Triple Knot?
3. And what do the books say again? Something about a roots and Lagiah, something to spoken before an altar of the Triple and that the person shouldn’t be a priest or similar. Well, it’s a good thing you are a Librarian, not a priest!
4. Maybe the lesson those books give you should be of use here, since they specifically write about Triple Knot’s altar
5. But if it was a long time ago, there are skills with description about the Triple Knot or old paths and things that echo beneath the earth

Direct Answer: At the “Our Lady Beneath” room, there is a “Altar of the Knot”, by using “Tridesma Hiera” or “Hill & Hollow” skills on it, you receive “Serpent-Root”.

Answer Explaination: The books “One Thousand Threads”, “The Wonderful Shape” and “The Queen's Turn” implies to use its skills (Tridesma Hiera’s and Hill & Hollow) at Triple Knot Altas, so, why not?
What Hidden IIInteractions can we find?
Below are hidden interactions I consider most difficult, and you need to be in late game to achieve them. Some you must “Consider” stuffs, others you to read the description of stuff, or need a specific Skill, or specific object, or just read some books.

The source of the fire
1. No librarian would be happy to see what their beloved library became after the Nocturnal takeover. What happened in those rooms?
2. Well, Collers confined a lot of… people(?) here, but one place SURELY calls our attention.
3. The Librarian at the time warned about Their divinity and stuff but Collers called them a bastard brush it off. Whatever are, They didn’t stop until get Their revenge after release from containment
4. Fright me the Containment it’s a Workstation, but our librarian reminds us it’s configuration still has its uses
5. There are books that talk about a Containment. Surprisingly, they say it was designed to a Forge-Name. I wonder if it’s the same Containment inside our prison…
6. Well, there are contradictions in the books: one says it’s designed to imprison, the other it’s a sanctuary. Both suggest a skill when handling it, however.
7. It does make sense since it’s a Principle that construct and destroy. One of the books talks about another discipline too …
8. Astonish me that Collers manage to keep a Sun…stuff inside a prison, especially with this thing of Second Dawn, the Chandler (which is a Hour that doesn’t exist but kind of exist at the same time) and whatever
9. About the Chandler btw, there is a book about They that say when They passed “the understandings of the Colonel and the Lionsmith will wrench open truth”. I wonder what it means

Direct Answer: At the “Oubliette” room, there are “Oubliette Containment” workstation. By using “Disciplines of the Hammer” or “Disciplines of the Scar” skill, you receive “The Sun's Design”.

Answer explaination? Since the “The Sun's Design” is a book about the Sun Hour, maybe it was left by the… person(?) lock inside the Oubliette Containment...???? Whatever was inside it could be Chandler’s Name or maybe even an actual descendant of the Sun-in-Splendor (the Sun god before it was ♥♥♥♥♥♥ and the four Solar-Hours assumes his position, or whatever). Could it be that Lionel left it too, assuming the Oubliette Containment is the same thing he designs. No matter what the answer is, it's all speculation.

A tradition left behind by a people that no longer existed
That’s the most difficult one, the hits are stupidly obscure

If it’s difficult to find the Skill to use here, they are: Preliminal Meter or Resurgences & Emergences

1. Apparently, there is a place the Governor would like to access but all librarians ♥♥♥♥ him up, haha
2. This place is old as ♥♥♥♥, I mean, there are even cave-paintings and a giant crab-cute-thing!
3. Besides the cave-paintings, there are even a monument about the people who server the gods-from-stone, the gods that came before the current Hours!
4. I wonder if it’s possible to understand what are left in those cave-paintings…
5. Interestingly your collection has “books” that talks about the old-gods or the people who serve them (or look like at less)
6. And when I say “talks”, it’s literally an oral record! Which makes sense. If it’s something so old as the gods-from-stone, a codex or a table record might not survive (and we're not even talking about the language barrier yet…!)
7. Whatever lessons are in those “books” I hope they help to understand the cave-painting
8. But if it was a long time ago, one of the records-books talks about subtle rhythms of words and stuff and the other skill talks about things that come back (sorry, it’s the best I could to hit the skills)
9. Their painting are written all over the cave wall, it’s too much! You better bring an ink to write them down and analyze it calmly

Direct Answer: At “Shrine to St Tentreto” room, there is the “Altar: St Tentreto” workstation. By using any Ink plus “Preliminal Meter” or “Resurgences & Emergences” skill, you receive “The Writing on the Wall”.

Answer explaination? My line of thinking was clear here: the “The Writing on the Wall” it's literally the cave paintings, our librarian were just smart enough to write everything down somewhere so they wouldn't have to spend days and nights holed up in a cave
Conclusion
That was HARD!
I hope it’s work. I’m not very creative to give tips and stuff. I accept suggestions btw.
