The developers refuse to acknowledge player support tickets from Australian players and continue to permit poorly match-made games taking place on Amazon GameLift servers in South-East Asia and beyond.

The ping from Australia to these regions can reach, and regularly exceed, 120ms, 160ms and even 210ms.
This effectively makes the game unplayable.

If this was a once off, "it just happened to connect to Asia" issue, we wouldn't be so annoyed.
But this issue occurs in >70% of all lobbies me and friends are matched into.

You're gonna need a few things.

• You are playing on PC using the Steam, Windows Store or Epic Games version of Dead by Daylight.
  
• You do not have a third-party firewall/anti-virus solution and use Windows Defender and Windows Firewall.
  
• If you do have a third-party solution, I will supply the IP ranges below and you will need to research your own specific application's firewall settings and how to implement the blocks.

Launch a PowerShell session as Administrator.
To do this, head to your start menu and right click the Windows logo.
This should bring up a context menu, within there should be an option for Windows PowerShell (Admin) or Terminal (Admin) when on Windows 11.
Alternatively, using the start menu's search bar, find Windows PowerShell, right-click it and Run as Administrator.

Now to block Dead by Daylight from accessing Amazon EC2's hosted in Asia.
To accomplish this, simply copy and paste the following command into the PowerShell window.

You will need to replace the "File Path to DBD HERE" with the path to your game's DeadByDaylight-Win64-Shipping.exe which is found in your DBD's installation folder under ..\DeadByDaylight\Binaries\Win64\

For example, my game is installed on my normal C: drive Steam directory and so my path would be:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Dead by Daylight\DeadByDaylight\Binaries\Win64\DeadByDaylight-Win64-Shipping.exe"

However yours could be installed on D: drive or whatever letter you saw fit to use.
So ensure you find the full path and paste that within the two speech-marks.

The next thing we can do is fake bad ping values for the Asia Amazon GameLift servers.
Note: this could impact other games that use Amazon's GameLift, while it does not actually increase real ping to these regions, it will make games think you have poor ping to that region.
It is reversible but I haven't the time for now to explain.
