Requires server-side Lua to work

This is a completely server-side Lua mod that does some tweaks to the game's networking in the hopes of making it less painful.

What does it change?

  • Forced network health update interval to zero, health will now update instantly and not sometimes take 2 seconds to get updated by the server.

  • Characters ""far"" away from you now have their position updated instantly instead of every 1 second.

  • The max amount of network events sent every update was changed from 4 to 8, should improve the situations where the entire server freezes for about 3 seconds because thousands of network events were generated at the same time.

  • Minimum mid round sync timeout changed from 10 to 100 seconds.

  • Old event kick time changed from 30 to 50 seconds.

  • Hull sparse network update interval changed from 5 seconds to 0.5 seconds.

  • Hull network update interval changed from 0.5 to 0.1 seconds.

Tickrate
Barotrauma has a tick rate setting, by default its 20, you can go to your game files and edit serversettings.xml to increase it up to 60. Might be a good idea for PvP. Increasing tick rate results in even more network updates being sent.

Consequences?
No idea, tested those settings in a PvP server, seems fine. People with really bad internet might suffer because of the increased amount of network updates.

Tested it with and without and pumps works the same 4-5% way. I'm curious why. But can say for sure it's not related to this mod.

Sup, this mode is messing with ballast pumps, they work all the time going from 0 to 4% rapidly. It probably didnt do anything serious, but it makes really annoying endless pump sounds.
1. Host a campaign lobby with vanilla humpback (0% pumps activity)
2. Quit and turn on this mod. Host a campaign lobby with vanilla humpback and now even while docked pumps goes crazy (4-5%) and never stops.
Can you please fix it somehow? At least on stations?
