About The Hunt for the Treasure Hunter event
The Hunt for the Treasure Hunter event is a series of limited-time community events for Fallout 76.

From time to time, treasure-hunting mole miners will emerge throughout Appalachia. Defeating these mole miners will cause them to drop mole miner pails. These treasure hunters can appear in any location where hostile enemies spawn, not just where mole miners are typically found.

How to craft pails yourself
The pails can be dusty, regular, or ornate, with the rewards improving as the pail tier increases. You can also craft your own pails by purchasing them at Vendor bots (Whitespring Mall or any Railway Station) and then crafting them at the Tinker's workbench.

Appreciate the info. I clicked 5 locations at random on the map (but not on this well-known farming route), and every location had a treasure hunter.

So the TLDR is if you're reading this in 2025. There are far more locations to find these guys, I'd even recommend you try my test because you might just find your own.. personal locations that will have a higher chance of you not finding a dead mob.
