Crafting materials can be found during a mission and spawns randomly around the maps. The material you'll find are different and has a range of rarity.

Full list of Bulk Material. Bulk Material is the most common material dropping in missions, they can drop up to 100-1000 when found.

Carbon

"A pile of pure elemental carbon. Interesting."

Loose Wires

"A pile of loose insulated wires of assorted lengths. Possibly useful for building or repairing something."

Scrap Metal

"A large, mostly-charged chemical cell found while fighting the Swarm."
