"Jesus is sitting with the tax collectors and sinners were gathered around Him to hear. The Pharisees and scribes murmured, saying, "This man receiveth sinners, and eateth with them." (this sets the stage and Jesus hears the religious people saying these things) And He spake this parable unto them, saying, "What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it? And when he hath found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing. And when he cometh home, he calleth together his friends and neighbours, saying unto them, Rejoice with me; for I have found my sheep which was lost. I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance."

God is utterly unconcerned with the consequences of His actions with regards to His own safety, comfort, and well-being. His love bankrupted heaven for me, and for you. His love doesn't consider Himself first, He doesn't wonder what He will gain or lose by putting Himself on the line. He simply puts Himself out there on the off chance that you or I will give Him that love in return. His love leaves the 99 to find the 1 every time.
