Glad you asked! here are the best ways to get yourself some juicy effigies.

I recommend getting a fast flying mount.
I personally use Jetdragon.

Once you have your speedy mount, it's time to fly around and look for green dots.
The easiest time to find them is at night, thanks to basically no fog or occlusion, the game renders lifmunk effigies very brightly; even from far away :)
We can abuse this and find basically all of the exposed ones very quickly at nighttime by just flying around the coastlines.
Here are what they'll appear like from far away... just a shiny green dot :)


Some can be very hard to spot in the day, that's why I recommend nighttime abuse.

You can even go into your world settings and crank the nighttime speed all the way down to 0.1

Oh, and here's one closer up just in case you asked.


Sometimes, you'll see more than one at once.
In this case, it's okay to panic for a little bit...
Once you're ready, go down a fetch them one at a time, be quick or you might forget where the other one was.

Once you have at least 255, it's time to upgrade your capture power.
You'll need a statue of power to do this.
The game prompts you to build one around level 6.

Alternatively, you can also find them scattered about in the wild.
They'll be located in the destroyed churches.
Here's one to stare at for a moment.

Once you're done admiring the statue, you can click on it and spend your hard-earned Lifmunk Effigies to upgrade your capture power, max out that statue, and earn yourself the treasured achievement.

Of course, there will still be plenty more left to gather afterwards :)
