Описание
Emery Collegiate Institute is a High School located in Toronto Ontario, Canada. The school opened in 1961 and was designed by "James A. Murray" and "Henry Fliess". This school was the second of 4 schools constructed in Toronto that featured a unique "combined campus" that placed both a Middle School and High School in the same building as a means to save money. In this case this campus was home to both "Emery Junior High School" and "Emery Collegiate Institute"; and while they were in the same building and shared a cafeteria and library, every other aspect of each school was separate (e.g. separate administrations). This arrangement would last until 1985 when Emery Junior High was shut down and merged with another middle school, thus leaving Emery CI as the sole occupant of the building and leaving only 3 "combined campus" schools left in Toronto (those being Don Mills CI, Stephen Leacock CI, and Lester B.Pearson CI). Eventually the old middle school wing of the campus would be occupied by the "Emery Adult Learning Centre", and the "Emery Child Care Centre" which his how the campus remains today.

As for the building itself, the high school section opened in 1961 with the middle school wing opening in 1964. The high school wing would see 2 new classroom "blocks" added in 1966 and 1974, while the middle school wing would receive its one and only expansion in 1966. The final expansion would come in 1991 when a second floor was added to the rear of the high school wing.

This school features: 50 Standard Classrooms (28 High School, 22 Middle School), 9 Science Labs (7 High School, 2 Middle School), 2 Double Gyms (1 High School, 1 Middle School), 1 Single Gym (High School), 25m Swimming Pool (High School), Cafeteria (with stage, shared), and a Library (shared).
