My problem stopped (apart from the delightful habit Div-X has of causing more crashes then light rain on a NASCAR track) when i disabled or lowered particles and particle thickness in game, and replaced the .reg of several very worthwhile playing mods , which are the reason i reinstalled the game in the first case.
I dont know if its related, I kind of doubt it, but i have no idea why that would help an integrated graphics system that basically only exists on paper, even with the hefty 4GB of system memory it has to draw on, but integrated graphics suck for everythign ive applied them to - except this series.
I am perplexed - but good luck.
Really the only other stuff besides things I mentioned below that comes to mind:
1. installing other .Net packages - older/newer versions if that might not help
2. installing other DirectX versions
3. trying to use integrated GPU or looking up if it's not the GPU crashing it - Windows has its OWN settings for which GPU to use, besides the usual nvidia control panels and such. It could be that Windows is somehow crashing it this way
4. installing DivX codec - though this should be autoincluded in Win 10/11
Funnily - it seems like the game is easiest to run on Linux these days.
I even tried Compatibility Administrator fix with core limit to 8. same
Think I'm out for realsies this time but again, ty for trying to help.
I have full-screen optimisations enabled and the fix I wrote above was enough for me.
